Is it normal to only be awake for about forty-five minutes to an hour before going down for a nap again? This seems to be the norm for my little ones as it pertains to mostly their morning naps. Even after they wake from their nap, they continue to yawn, shut their eyes. I try to see if they want to sleep for longer (usually 1-1.5 hours) but they usually resist. They wait to sleep forty-five minutes later. Is this normal? My little ones are 9 weeks old. THANKS!!!

At 2 months yes...mine were the same way. Now at almost 5 months they are usually awake 1.5-2 hour before getting sleepy again. Weissbluth's rec. have worked GREAT for ours.

Sounds like it's pretty normal to me too!! I didn't start paying really close attention till after 4 mos., so you are doing great!

Very normal, he told me last week, that at this point 30-45 minutes is normal (he's our ped). My dd was the same way. It took quite a while before she could stay up for 1 1/2 - 2 hours (around 4 months or so).

My old schedule had them being awake for 1 to 1 1/2 hours. They usually didn't make it to 1 1/2 hours until 4 months. I never let them be awake more than 2 hours until 6 months old. Per HSHHC, we moved to the new 2-3 nap schedule. It's working out great...alot of the advice has worked well for my babies. [IMG]

I'm so glad to see this posted. My guys only make it about an hour at best, and they were 10 weeks on Friday. I was trying to stimulate them to keep them up a little bit longer. Good to know an hour is enough!
