Has anyone experienced any urinary issues after their surgery? The OB checked for a UTI and it was negative. It just feels irritated down there....not really painful or burning, just annoying. It has been like this since they removed the catheter in the hospital. Is it because I now live on caffine instead of water? I don't know what to do. I'm going to quit the coffee and just drink water and see if it helps. It's been 3 1/2 weeks since the surgery...

YES - I thought that they had really messed me up removing the catheter!! it was awful!! it took about 6 weeks to feel better but then it took me a while to really even feel like I needed to go - it was really weird! and still I can go all day without going and then remember that I ment to go at lunch time but then I got distracted by the babies and forgot - which is something that I am not used to - when I was pregnant I went it seemed like 50 times a day!!

At least I'm not the only one!

I'm taking some over the counter meds, hoping that helps. Ugh...just not what I need right now!

I didn't have a C-Section but I did have this problem! I think it was from my catheter for sure! (I oculdn't go after the birth and they had to use a catheter.). It took about 6 weeks to go away for me too! Yuck! Hang in there!

I had a lot of discomfort when I peed for weeks after the c-section. It felt like a weird pressure and sometimes it took a good 6-7 seconds to get the pee to come out even though it felt like I had to go so badly. It eventually cleared on it's own. I don't know if it's the caffein perse but if you are not drinking water during the day, well that's not good for you anyway ;) Drink that water girl!!! I didn't start drinking caffein until about 3 weeks after birth so I don't think for me it was related to that. Hope you feel better soon. Things are just going to feel wierd down there for a while. Your body is trying to get itself back to normal after carrying 2 babies for so many months.

I had a horrible UTI after they removed the catheter after my c-section. I thought if it was going to happen it would have happened a few days after the removal, but I didn't have the pain until almost a week and a half after the removal. I do hope you feel better soon!

One of the things my doc told me to do was to drink lots of juice (Cranberry and/or grape) to help out. That's all they would give me for 3 days in the hospital after my c-section. I didn't get a UTI, so maybe this helped, or maybe I was just lucky. Good luck!

I had that pain also. With two of my births, I ended up with a nasty UTI, and the csection was one of them. If you are still having the pain in another week or so, I would go back and have them recheck your urine just to be sure. Feel better soon! :hug99:
