This morning I started getting a headache and just chalked it up to the sinus stuff I've been dealing with. Then, suddenly I got really dizzy. I can't seem to shake the dizziness and the headache comes and goes. It's almost blinding when it comes on. Should I call the dr now or wait a little while and see if it goes away?

hmmm... I'd be more worried if you were further along when pre-e is more likely to strike... It doesn't hurt to call the doctor...maybe they will have you come over for a blood pressure check. (Hopefully you have someone who can drive you though...) Drink plenty of water...sometimes I get headaches from not drinking water. And make sure you are eating, that could cause dizziness...

Try drinking some orange juice or eating some penut butter. I get like that when my blood sugar gets low. I always keep penut butter crackers in my diaper bag for emergencies. I would mention it to the doctor too, it could be an ear infection ;)

I would try some protein like pp said and (OJ, peanut butter) and see if that helps...along with a LOT Of water. I got dizzy a lot with the twins, but it wasn't until later on. I even passed out at the OB office one time waiting for an u/s...embarassing. It could also just be a migraine bad enough to cause you to be dizzy. I hope you feel better soon...if you have doubts, it doesn't hurt to call.

I called the dr. It still hasn't really gone away and they told me that if I'm feeling the same tomorrow morning, then I need to call and make an appointment.

Thanks for the responses. I'm supposed to have public speaking class tonight but there's no way I can get through that. I barely got through the workday.

I got some migraines when I was expecting Liam. My vision would get spotty/blurry and then a headache would come on. The doctor gave me a prescription for it. It just happened a couple of times when I was around 4 months pregnant.

How are you feeling today? I hope better.

Just checking in on you this morning to see how you're feeling. Hopefully the dizziness has gone away.

When I had this a few weeks ago they had me come in to the office (but I have a history of pre-e). They told me that if it happens again to lay down on my left side, drink OJ and make sure that I stay hydrated. And, if the headache is bad it is ok to take tylenol or caffeine to get it to go away.

Let us know how you are feeling! :hug99:

I too would recommend eating and drinking water. I found myself in this situation a couple of wks ago and knew that my blood sugar must have been low. Try having a protein shake every morning and of course eating lots and drinking lots of water.
Hope you are doing better today....

I went in today to get checked b/c I was still feeling so dizzy and the headaches kept coming and going. The dr decided I'm experiencing an "atypical" migraine. She said the dizziness and nausea sounded like an aura associated with a migraine. She prescribed me phenergan to take tonight so maybe it will take care of it before the morning. If I had to choose between this migraine and the 5-day long one I had a few weeks ago, I'll take this one any day. At least I can function with this going on.

The frustrating thing is that I had ONE migraine the whole time I was pg with the twins. Normally I might get one every few months and that's it. She said that sometimes pregnancy can just bring them on and change the way I react to them which just kind of sucks! :) But hopefully I'll be better tomorrow!

    Thanks for checking on me!
