Ok, let's give some updates! It's been a while! Let's see how everyone is doing, who is here & what are our issues!

Please also share the color of your hair (natural), dh's hair and your kids' color of hair!

I've been trying to keep up around here, I"m glad that we have Greymom, Melissa & Titania (Helen) though. My two kids have been diagnosed with their FIRST ear infection this week. It's been 2 weeks of little sleep for me because of colds and now this! Of course it's opposite ears! We've never had ear infections before which we are extremely blessed about. We are nursing 3 times during the day and then some when they get up. DS is not eating well because of his ear but it doesn't seem to phase DD much! My little piggy!

Oh, and my hair is strawberry blond, dh had brown hair with our kids mirroring ours.. DS - brown & DD strawberry blond.
    NEXT!

I'm still plugging along. Mostly pumping but have gotten DS to take the breast. I've officially hit my first goal - 6 months! I can't believe my babies are already 6 months old.

Let's see, I've got dark brown hair amd DH has light brown. Colby and Kayleigh both have DH's hair color, Kegan is my little toe head and C&C look like they've got dark hair like mommy. It's hard to tell, they're practicaqly bald but the hair coming in is dark.

Jacki-I hope your little ones get feeling better. I've been incredibly lucky, only 1 ear infection between all 5 of mine!

Well, Ava is having her tongue clipped on Monday. I'm stilla wreck, but she will not get general anestesia, so I am better with it now. We are going on vacation to the beach a few days later (for 2 weeks), and I am hoping to squeeze in a few nursing vacations to rebuild my supply and get Ava back to the breast. I am so hoping that it works.

It seems that I think about giving up every day. Today my big issue was that Ava just looks so much bigger than Alex, and it made me think I should just start giving him formula all the time. I reminded myself that I need to take this one feeding at a time, and alas another day has passed that we are still BF.
I would love to get to the point where we are EBF, but I feel like by that time it will be time to start solids.

Tomorrow we go to the pedi... A&A will be getting 4 shots. Its going to be a LONG weekend - this weekend is their christening too. Oh and the dress I bought to wear (which is depresses me since its twice my normal size) is not really conducive to BF, so I don't know how I am going to handle the day. I know I am going to need to pump at some point - probably during the lunceheon afterwards.

DH and I both have brown hair. His is much darker than mine. DS1 has my color hair. The twins both have dark brown hair now, but I swear Alex is going to be a red head. I see the highlights already. He also bhas blue eyes and looks like my mom's side of the family (red hair, blue ees)

Here's my update: Babies are one month old today and doing great! I had a funny moment today when I saw a woman and her baby and my first thought was, "where is the other one?" I know I'm a real twin mom now!

My hair is coppery red and DH is light brown. Our DD is looking strawberry blonde (like me when I was little) and DD is blonde! It's going to be so much fun to see how they turn out.

As for nursing I'm wondering if we are entering a growth spurt because these babies are acting like hungry hungry hippos!

We are nursing about 6+ times a day here and I pump 2 days a week when I work. I am hoping to wean from the pump at 12 months, but continue nursing.

I really love bfing and seeing how the kids have grown on my milk.

Almost 13 months and still plugging along. We just gave up a midmorning feeding and they are doing great! They still nurse 3 x a day and usually several times throughout the night. Last night by 4am there was nothing left for the hungry girls! They must be having a growth spurt. Because lately they act like newborns getting up every 2 hours to eat. Since I have given up the mid morning feeding I have taken to drinking a cup of coffee in the am which is such a treat! I am sure we will be keeping this up for sometime as the pedi had advised me to keep going with the nightime feedings as they are both underweight and fell off the curve for there one year appts. I started running again which has been great for a mood booster and hasn't really affected my supply like I thought it would. On a good note it seems my dh has quit bugging me about weaning, he sees they need it and seems sort of supportive......it only took 13 months.

My dh has dirty blond hair/I have dark brown hair. Both my girls have blond. My litte Isabella is brown haired.

Things are going pretty well around here! It really is night and day between what we were going through last year at this time and now. Twins are very hard, but so fun! I hope to wean the twinkies within the next month. We are down to 2x/day, wake-up and bedtime. This weekend I hope to cut out the morning feeding. Its been a slow process...I'm trying to make it the least stressful as it can be for all involved. We just went in for their 15 month appt...they're about 22#s. They are walking around and getting into and climbing on everything--its so fun! Everything is 'dat, 'dat, 'dat... Although I don't post much, I definitely like to read up on what is going on...great advice/information/support! :good:

I have dark brown hair (red highlights-natural), my DH has light brown hair, my oldest DD has dark blond hair, Karl (I see a trace of hair ) has medium blond, as is Noelle's (both twinkies=red highlights).

Hi! My girls are 2 weeks old and we are starting to get the hang of this bf thing -- some days are better than others; we have had two "decent" nights in a row - they wake up every three hours, but not between; so with some sleep, life is better looking! :)

My hair is brown and so is DH's; our girls look more blonde right now (I think DH had blonder hair when he was young) -- but I still wonder if this hair will all fall out.

Three and a half months now and going stronger than ever! They are both eating well and we are tandem feeding more than half the time, not much more, but we try so they can EVENTUALLY be on the same schedule. Easier said than done :) No major problems and last night was their first night in the nursery - it went fantastic! I never set any goals to reach, just trying to nurse as long as they want to. Decided to officially be a SAHM the other week and quit my job...WAHOO!! This mommy thing is so very tiring but so very rewarding and I can't imagine anyone else looking after them :)

My hair is Strawberry Blonde and DH is Brown. Not to sure about the kids yet, maybe light brown or blondish.

Breast feeding is truly amazing! Wathcing how two little ones can grow so fast just on mommy's milk! WOW! What a wonderful thing!

Well the twinners are 5 weeks and 3 days old. BFeeding is going GREAT. They both have colds right now so we went to the Dr yesterday and they have both gained 3 pounds in 3 weeks. WOW... I was in shock..I was also super encouraged.

    My hair is blonde
    DH hair is dark brown
DS 20 months old has blone hair
    DD 5 weeks Blonde
DS 5 weeks brown like his daddy.. but the roots are looking blonder every day.

Thanks to all the ladies here... you are such a great support.

A&B will be 13 months this weekend. I'm only pumping once/day at work and the girls are getting whole milk at grammy's house instead of EBM. Not pumping a whole lot these days, so hopefully I'll be able to stop completely soon. I'm sad that my BF days may be over soon, but can't wait to pack this pump away for good!

This weekend I'm going to try BF just for breakfast and dinner and giving whole milk for lunch. Wish us luck!

    My hair is blonde.
    DH's hair is brown.
The girls both have light brown hair.

    Hi Ladies!

Alex & Gabby are getting pretty chunky at a week shy of 4 months. Alex is 13.13 lbs & Gabby is 14.7 lbs - DH thinks I have some kind of steroids in my milk ;) Yes, they are both TUBS o' FUN as he calls them :) Still nursing and pumping away.

    Me: Dark brown/black
    DH: Med brown
Sam: Med brown with lots of highlights
Alex: what hair she does have is light brown
    Gabby: ditto

Still pumping away full time at 7 months. I feel pretty good about having kept my supply fairly constant for the last 4 or so months since the kids and I were sick and stopped nursing. I'm glad I've kept going with the pumping--gives me a warm feeling every time I see them happy and healthy and sucking away at their ebm bottle.

Let's see--hair color: mine is dark brown, DH--from what I remember of his hair (he's shaved his head for a few years now  )--is was mid/light brown. Declan is my little towhead boy--just like DH when he was little. Ronan's looking reddish brown at this point, just like Mom when mom was little!

Ava and Liam are going to be 10 months on May 23rd and we are still nursing. I am down to pumping once a day at work (I have a love/hate relationship with my pump) so they get two bottles at daycare...one formula and bm and one straight up formula... and then during the week i bf three times a day and on the weekend its more like 6-7 times a day. They are really taking to solids.... now we are just working on sippy cups.

We have no plans to wean anytime soon. ( I used to be one of those people that would cringe if someone bf'd over a year... I was so uneducated... I am so glad that I have learned what I have.)

I have ash blond hair (when it's not dyed red) ... DH has brown...DD1 is ash blond ...twins are both blondies too....

My babies will be 18 months in less than two weeks! I can't believe it. I'm nursing them 3x a day. About a month or so ago I stopped nursing them if they woke up at night and they finally, literally sleep through the night! They go to bed at 7-7:30pm and wake up at 6:30am.

I'm blonde, dh is light brown...Noah is light brown, babies are tow-heads.

Hope everyone is well soon Jackie!

Well Brandon is just past the 13mo mark but we are currently weaning. He is down to 1 feeding a day, and I am going to try to completely wean by this coming weekend. It has been a great run, but mommy is done and he isn't as happy anymore.

Things are good here. I am breastfeeding about 6 times a day still. I have had a few clogged ducts, but DS fixes that right up for me. DD has four new teeth and I now have had a bitten nipple or two which was painful but no real problem. I am so enjoying the time I get to spend with them and couldn't imagine doing this any other way. Thank God that my supply has been sufficient for my two loves.

I have very dark brown hair and DH has very red hair. DS looks light brown and DD looks red. Yay!

We're still hanging in there....DS is a great nurser and actually doesn't care for the bottle too much. He actually slept from midnight til 7:30 this morning!!! He has never gone more than 5 hours before, and that is rare!

DD has been having lots of issues this past month between her reflux and my forceful letdown. She was in tears almost every time I tried to nurse her, and refused to nurse (except at night) and would go for hours without eating until I broke down and gave her a bottle. I've come to terms the past few days that's it's not worth the struggle, we've tried everything. ..pumping for the first letdown, she's on prevacid, nipple shields, talking to the LC, and she's just miserable and wants a bottle. I finally decided I'll let her nurse if she wants (which is usually just in the middle of the night when she's groggy) and if she gets upset I'll just pump and give her a bottle. It upsets me because I fear my supply will dwindle and she'll have to go to some formula, but I just couldn't handle her so upset, and me feeling like I'm forcing her, and being frustrated and mad at a three month old. So that was two days ago that I decided to "let it go" and enjoy my DD, and what do you know, now she's nursed all day, no complaints! Hoping it's not a fluke..maybe she could tell I was frustrated??

Oh, and they are about 13 and 14 lbs now...are 4 month appt is on the first, can't wait!

DH and I both have brown hair, but his is much darker. Looks like DD has his hair color, and DS just might be a little on the blonde side.

So wonderful to see who's still here and loads and loads of "new" BFing mums. OK so I haven't been around that much recently. We were away for April and since returning the girls and I have had some horrid spotty lurgy (complete with joint pain and misery all round) from which we've finally recovered - although I'm still having to nap every time they nap rather than be online. I have a theory that I can only pass on immunity that I already have and, as I am living in a 'foreign' country, I don't have that much immunity to the bugs here and we all keep succumbing  .

We made it to a year :D and still going strong  :a_smil09: . Both of them nurse 4 times a day at the moment (roughly 5 am, 11 am, 4 pm and before bed) plus whenever else they want. At around 9 or 10 months of age we began to comfort them rather than feed them at night - one waking at a time. They're now sleeping through 8 til 5 am then breastfeeding and sleeping again til 6 or 7. We'd love to shift the 5 am feed.

I have no real plans on stopping. I think maybe we'll try to cut out the daytime nursing sessions by september when the girls start at a childminders (they'll be 16 months) and then try to continue over the winter to give them whatever immunity I can. After that we'll see ...

One of ours is doing well, she was a bit chubby but is growing into a lovely strong toddler. Her sister is still rather skinny. She's just fallen off the bottom of the growth curve having gained a total of 3 oz in the past 2 months :( . We're working on it! Otherwise they're both happy and in love with BFing.

Missing you all. Hope to contribute more soon. Meanwhile, mine and DH's hair is (are?) dark brown. One of our daughters is ditto whilst the other is lighter. They're both getting very curly.

My boys are just over 5 months & breastfeeding is still going strong. They nurse every 2.5-3 hours around the clock. We're very slowly introducing solids & have finally managed to get their reflux under control. Now if we could just stretch out the naps some...

My hair is blonde, DH's is dark brown, & all my kids have blonde hair. DH had blonde hair as a young child, though, so we'll see what happens.

    Hi there!

Still nursing at a little over 5 months, going strong. I'm very proud that I recently went to Vegas and pumped the whole time to keep up my supply. Nursing sessions are down to 5 times a day (7am, 10, 1, 4, 7pm, bed) and they are starting to not wake up to nurse at night anymore. Yay!!! We were at a 3am feed and they are slowly dropping that. I've never tried to push feeds or pull them or anything on the boys, I let them go with it and follow their lead and they have gone from a 1am and 4 am feed down to a 3am feed and that is going away too. We are starting cereal again this week, we tried at 4 months adn they just weren't ready for it but I think they are now.

And my hair is light brown with a touch of red in it, DH's is dark dark brown (almost black) and the boys have lighter colored hair like Momma. They are getting Momma's eyes too. :a_smil09:

Georgia and Ella are almost 11 months, and I nurse 3x a day and they get a bottle of EBM during the day as well. During the next month I plan on introducing whole milk and weaning slowly so my body can adapt to less feedings.

DH has light brown/blond hair and I have dark brown/black hair. Georgia has black hair with red highlights and Ella has light brown with blond and red highlights.

I have not been on the BF board for awhile and it is so great to see so many new nursing mommas going strong!

We are 21 months and still nursing, albeit only once a day now, just before the kids go to sleep. We will wean off of that session sometime soon. I don't know when they started it but they have gotten into the habit of leaving serious teeth marks on my breast. I am not loving that. They only nurse for a few minutes so I think we will just gradually wean. We'll see when it happens.

I have dark brown hair with too many gray streaks, DH's hair (what little he has left) is also brown, DD has the same color as me, and DS still does not have much hair but it's looking like it will be lighter brown.

    Regards,
    Esther

We're still going... just hit the 20-month mark last week. Every time I think they're losing interest they seem to come back. I don't know anyone IRL who was still nursing 4+ times a day at 20 months so I feel like I'm in uncharted waters now.

As for the hair... I'm a blonde -- used to be quite light but it has darkened to a dishwater shade over the years. DH is sandy blonde with a hint of strawberry. The boys were born with a "new penny" shade but it's a light blonde now (still looks coppery when wet, though). I'm hoping for them that they have daddy's hair because it hasn't thinned, grayed, or receded and he's in his mid 40's.
