    Hey everyone...

Just got back from the Dr.s to follow up last weeks appt. I'm 100% effaced, and 2cm dilated. Looks like I'm starting to spill proteins in my urine and bp is still up (went to the BP last friday for headache and high bp-they gave me ambian and said i was tired  ) hematicrit is increased..dr wasnt' ready to 'diagnose' me with pre-e...but said i'm on my way....i love my doc...she's so thorough, and very calm! i really feel she's looking out for my best interest.

NST was still really good...YAY!! I have to do a 24 urine, and get another bp and NST tomorrow...feel pretty good, optomistic we can still last another week or two...i hope that's realistic!

Question: If I do develop Pre-e does that mean automatic c-section? both babies are head down, i was hoping for vaginal...but obviosly what ever gets them here safetlh...

    Thanks for reading my ramblings!!

Sounds like things are progressing and your Dr is keeping a close eye on you. :good: Not sure about the pre-e, c-section question though.

Yay for babies (when you're ready)! I don't know about with twins, but my SIL is currently laboring for a vaginal birth with her singleton and she was induced due to signs of pre-e. Her bp was VERY high and she was seeing the black spots.

    Good luck momma!

Good Luck with everything - sounds like the doc is doing the right thing - I would hope they will allow you to try vaginally first. It is def worth asking....
    Great Job Mama!!!!

Thanks for your support everyone...I can't tell you how wonderful it is to have you to chat with! My dh asked me to call thehosptal to find out about the c-section....and i said no, i'll ask my girls on my twin forum...they know more than my docs! hahaaha

also wanted to add...i've started to lose my mucas plug...nurse said it was cause they checked my cervix...but it is... what it is, right?

I've been so busy living in the moment....I can't imagine this happening already....I still have "2 weeks" in my head!! YIKES!

    Thanks again!!!

I don't know for sure about the automatic c-section with Pre-E. But I had Pre-E. I was pretty much thinking c-section all the way because of my babies positions throughout my entire pregnancy. But in the hospital they did a last minute ultrasound to check the babies positions to make sure they hadn't moved. Before doing this they asked me if they had flipped and were in position for a vaginal delivery would I like to change my mind? I wasn't sure since I was already mentally prepared for a c-section. I said I'd wait to see what the ultrasound showed before I decided. The last ultrasound I had was around 32 weeks and they were both transverse and was told it was unlikely they could move out of that position anymore. But they had, and they were both breech now. So no need for a decision on my part. Anyway, I'm assuming the fact that they were even discussing this with me means a vaginal delivery was possible with pre-e. But maybe it's a case by case basis. Definitely worth asking though.

I don't know if you'll have to be put on magnesium or not. I assume that's the standard protocol for pre-e. That was the worst part of the whole process for me. It makes you feel all hot and really worn out. I was hooked up to it before the surgery and had to stay on it until 36 hours after the surgery. I was not allowed to eat or drink anything during this time. That was the worst part of all. It may be worth asking about this when weighing out your decision. Is the protocol the same with a vaginal delivery? And if it is, would you be too wiped out to proceed with a vaginal birth? Might be a good conversation to have with your doctor. Good luck to you and congratulations!

Good luck to you. I don't know exactly about the pre-e and c/s I think it may depend on what your levels are, the babies heart rates and the dr. Let us know what happens...when you can!

[SIZE=10pt]Wow ~ things are really moving along now Reb! So glad to hear that your doctor is keeping such a close eye on you. Love hearing of momma's that love their OB's ~ that's how it's suppose to be.

Not sure about the automatic C/S. My DD was always standing on my bladder the whole time, so we never even talked about a vaginal delivery

Good luck with your 24 hour catch. Let us know what happens at your BP and NST tomorrow...if you can.

    Thinking about you ~

    April :)

I am actually in the hospital for pre-term labor. As I was reading this post my nurse came in and I asked her about it for you. She said it really varies by doctor. I am at a hospital that is just a women's hospital so there are about 15 OB/GYNs that have patients here. She said every doctor takes their own approach even with Pre-e. Good luck. Check with your doctor to see what his/her specific approach is. Keep us posted!
