hey everyone! i havent had a chance to read all the recent posts or catch up on everyone eslse, but i thought i would post an update real quick and read everything in a few days. monday i had a scheduled u/s just for size/dates and a follow up cervix check. everything looked great, cervix was still 2.5cm long, baby boy was measuring a lil smaller but they said it was normal. ive been on procardia sice 24wks and i was told to check my bp every day and make sure it was steady. it had been slowly creeping higher and highe rbut nothing TOO high. i called the doc monday since i was gonna be out and ask if i could stop by and have them check it. they did and it was 161/100..around there. they made me lay down and took it again. just as high. doc came in and asked how much procardia i was on, looked it up and realized i was on the max dose, came in and took the bp again and still very high. so off to the hospital i went. hooked up to all the wires/monitors, and they started the mag. bp just kept going up, but babies looked fine still. called an ambulance and transferred me to morristown where they have more high tech nicu. i think that was around 10 or so. go to morristown and they did all they could and came in at around 1 and said that we had to get the babies out. bp was in the 190/120 range. i actually felt fine other than the nasty meds lol. my mom was with me the whole time, btw. we called who we needed to (family at home, and my lil brother- who is a marine..more to follow on that!) so they could be praying and so they knew what was going on. so when we called my brother he said, give me justin's (dh) company number and a bunch of other information. about 15min he 3way called me and justin. he had called dh in the barracks! i told him as quick as possible babies were going to be born and everything would be okay. wheeled me into the OR and the babies were out in a few minutes. sean weighed 3lbs 3 oz and halle was 3lbs 13oz. i saw them very quick and they took me by the nicu afterwards for a few minutes. halle is doing GREAT. shes got a feeding tube in, and IV, and is off all the breathing tubes. she gets bm through the tube, and shes in the warming bed isolate type thing. she weighed 3lbs 3oz yesterday. she has a head of dark hair, which i cant believe, and really is adorable and looks more "normal" than her brother. sean was on CPAP and then the nasal canula (sp?) and is now back on the CPAP. he also has the iv and feeding tube. hes under the billi lights still and looks so much smaller than his sister. it breaks my heart to see him so fragile. he is on room air with the CPAP though. they are running of out iv sites and may have to do a pic line. he is also starting antibiotics today because they think he has an infection. because of a higher temp and faster hr. the blood tests should be back tonight as to the infection. i got to change halle's diaper today, which was scary/exciting. i get to hold her quite alot too. its hard because everytime something goes slightly wrong or there is a step back with sean i feel guilty like its my fault cuz i dont hold him. on top of feeling like its my fault theyre here cuz of my stupid bp. im still in the hospital, theyre trying to get my bp under control. its in the 140/90ish range, today is day 2 on a bp pill. i think i'll prolly go home tomorrow. the hospital is 2 hours from my house so ive been crying alot thinking about leaving them, but i know theyre in good care here. the nurses cant believe how well halle is doing, and that sean is actually doing everything a 30weeker should be and halle is just doing really good, so that i shouldnt compare them, but its hard not to. im pumping every 2 hours and get almost 2oz total, so i guess thats good? for some more happy news...my brother got ahold of dh after the babies were born so i got to talk to him again. then the social worker from the nicu came and we filled out all the red cross stuff and guess what! they let him come home and it wont count against him. hes been here since thursday morning, and been by my side the whole time. he got to hold both babies, and is so happy to be able to see them. he leaves tuesday morning, so that will be rough, but he'll be back july3rd, hopefully by then both babies will be out of the nicu. to everyone who PMed me and commented on my sisters post, thank you for all your thoughts and prayers, i know theyve helped, otherwise i would be crying all the time instead of just half the time lol. im gonna check my email and see if my sister sent me the pics of the babies, and ill try and get them up here. if not, when i get home ill post them. i hope everyone is doing well!!

    Congrats on your babies!!
I am so happy to hear they let your DH come home..too bad he can't stay longer though.

Ask at the hospital about Ronald McDonald houses in your area..you should be able to stay there while your babies are in the NICU so you can remain close to them.

Congratulations. I will keep the little ones in my prayers. That is really scary how fast bp can go up. Thank goodness you stopped by your doctor's office and checked it. Don't feel bad. It is nothing you did. You really can't help your bp going up!

Congratulations! Have you checked out whether or not there is an Ronald McDonald House in the area? I've known so many NICU momma's who have taken advantage of this housing to stay close to their babies.... Hope they have something like that for you

    Josalyn,

Their names are awesome, and it is such a relief to hear that they are doing okay. Thank God! We were all so worried about you three. I am so happy for both you and your husband that he was able to come home to be with you and his babies. It is amazing that he won't have to repeat the week he missed. (That is the way it should be! :D ) You are all still in my prayers, and I am so proud of you. You are one strong chick- and the best mommy ever! We're here if you need us, Lisa

Congratulations.. I am so happy to hear that they let your DH come home. You need him so much right now and I am sure he needs to be there just as much. You did a great job keeping those babies in there as long as you could. Try to remember that when something is life threatening to you.. its life threatening to those babies and had you not been delivered they could have lost all 3 of you. Don't blame yourself honey.. you did everything right.

You and your beautiful babies are in my thoughts and prayers.

Congrats for you and the babies, the NICU is very trying but you'll get through it. My boys have been in there almost 4 weeks and it really is a challenge. It gets better though and you'll have good and and then a bad day here and there but just remember what a blessing those babies are!

That is great news! My boys were 3lb 3ozs and 3lbs 14ozs! The "little guy" was on Cpap the first day like Sean. Just wanted to let you know, I've got two wonderfully healthy and normal sized babies! My NICU stay was always two steps forward, one step back. Focus on the positive! Does the hospital have a Ronald McDonald house? You could stay there pretty cheap. Being at the hospital as much as possible made me feel better.

Lots of hugs and feel free to PM me if you have any NICU questions!
