Hi everyone, I have our 2nd trimester update (14 weeks):
Well I am still sick :bad: … but some times I will go a couple days with out any major nausea... but then get hit hard… so hard that if I go 12 hour with out holding anything down my Dr. said I can take a morning sickness pill (just one) or go to the hospital for dehydration… lucky I’ve only had to take the pill 3 times and never had to go to the hospital. I sometimes have energy, but if I push it and do too much on those days (like grocery store AND a car wash) I get sick and pay for it for two days.
I had my 14 week ultra sound (11/15) and they looked good (good heartbeat and good size)… we added this videos to our twin web site… its not as easy to see them as it was in our 10 week u/s, but you can get an idea how much bigger they are… the Dr. wouldn’t guess on the sex, but said we should get a guess on the 27th at our high risk ultra sound (or level 2 u/s)… BUT the Dr. printed some stills from the u/s and I THINK I see boy bits on the one that holds still longer then 2 seconds… But DH isn’t convinced… It was funny the twin on the right was still the kung fu master… and the baby on the left is still its punching bag :vava: .

Yes we are kind of hoping for boys, BUT I know girls have there good parts too  … it was kind of funny when we found out we were pregnant we kind of wanted a girl, but when we found out identical, we changed our minds… we cant explain why twins makes the difference… maybe its because we know how to do boys, it wont be such a giant leap… who knows… I honestly wont mind either way, I think I only lean towards wanting boys because my son desperately wants brothers… and having 2 teenage daughters down the road… doesn’t sound so appealing… especially knowing I will have to pay for a the bad karma I put out in my teen years… oooo weee I wouldn’t wish me on any of my friends who currently have girls… and I wasn’t all that bad…I just didn’t get caught :acute: …

And thank you for the kind hope

I have no idea how to raise boys(I have two girls) but we were hoping for boys. I am much better at playing cars and trucks than I am Barbie. Maybe b/c I was such a tomboy growing up. And my sister in law has two boys and is passing on boxes and boxes of clothes lol Huge help :)

I so know what you mean about teenage daughters. I scares me that my one daughter is 13, will be 14 very soon...

I just LOVE looking at everyone’s pictures and going to there blogs… I have spent more time then I care to admit looking at all the ladies at this forums u/s, baby pic or videos…
At my sons school 2 moms had twins, and I talk to both of them and they both said they were sick until 16 weeks… so I put that in my mind and hope that’s worst case scenario… the ONLY bummer is they were both bed ridden RIGHT after that, one at 20 and one at the other at 24… I know not everyone gets bed ridden BUT I was also bed ridden with my singleton @ 24 weeks… BUT we are gonna think positive… good thoughts good thoughts…

My sickness ended at 17 weeks and boy what a relief that was! I was not ever on bed rest, so don't think it is a given. If you had issues with your cervix with your first, I'm assuming your OB is keeping super close eyes on it right now, right? What kind of meds are you on for your nausea? I was on Zofran and had to stay on it of I was so incredibly ill. When insurance would no longer pay for it, I took Bonine, which is like Dramamine only without the sleepiness. It is safe to take during pregnancy as is Unisom. Both will help with nausea. I hope you start feeling better soon!

You'll definitely get to see the boy or girl parts at the level 2. It won't be long now!

Yes, he checked my cervix at that visit… my husband jokes, he really likes sticking his hand in you… as every visit I have something…. I have a prescription, but I take it only when I haven’t held down something for 12 hours… I don’t throw up everyday… but I am nauseous everyday… I said I can only bare it now because I’m hoping it ends in 2 weeks, but if I’m still nauseous in a month or two… I will probably start taking something daily as I cant do this to the rest of my family much longer (I faint when I throw up so I cant be left alone… I’m beginning to feel like I’m getting to be a burden…

And I’m keeping positive thoughts about getting bedridden… BUT I was with my son so I have to keep it in the back of my mind (or just be prepared and get as much as I can get done before)… my Dr said I have a 50% chance…
