Let's see how everyone is doing!

**Also, for a fun question, Do you have a nickname?**

I have been nursing my two for 25 months now. We just cut out the naptime nursing session yesterday. So, I am only nursing once a day. I want to have a bit of a break before my little peanut arrives. I am currently 7 weeks pregnant with HOPEFULLY a singleton! Since the twins were IVF I am pretty sure it is only one since this one is NATURAL! :)
I really don't have a nickname. I guess I was "tweety" because of whistling in high school.

Okay 1st my highschool nickname was "Cheerio" because of the whole "eat your wheaties" slogan... I once stated "I hate wheaties... we eat Cheerios at our house" and Cheerio stuck!

Okay now... we are 5 1/2 months into exclusive breastfeeding!! The twins have started veggies and fruits and cereal before bed. We have given up on trying bottles because they refuse and think they are just a toy to play with! LOL I am loving every minute of being a twin nursing mommy...and I love to shock people by telling them that! I plan on nursing the year out and seeing where we want to go from there. Ashley already seems to be weining herself in a way and nurses simply because she has to to eat. Alyssa on the other hand thouroughly enjoys herself at every meal and would possibly eat all day if I allowed her to stay latched on!! We tandem feed at every feeding and I think it is so great to be forming this bond not only between me and each of my girlies but for the bond they are growing between themselves!

no nicknames here... other than my almost tow year old who has been calling me Mommyia for the past 3 months... who knows where he cam up with it.

I have been nursing the twins for almost 5 months now and it is going great. Paige is my little porker who can get what she needs in about 5 minutes. Our little Zeke (who is not that little.. just compared to his sis) loves to take him time and give me huge grins while he eats letting the milk in his mouth run down my side. I am the marvel of everyone I know who finds out that someone can make enough milk for two!

Thanks for all your support EVERYONE

Still exclusively breast feeding twins for 7 months now!! Just had their six-month appt and Evan is 19lb and Olivia is 14lb 10oz. Olivia is now starting to crawl foward where she wants to go and Evan isn't too far behind in crawling although he's still stuck in reverse :) They are eating one 'solid' meal a day, most days in the evening and I'm thinking of adding breakfast to our routine but it I'm not TOO anxious for another mess to clean everyday 8P We've also been using those mesh feeders and the kids really seem to like them and they are a great distraction tool!

Oh yeah...we went on vacation to LA last week and it went GREAT!! There were of course minor bumps along the way but my accomplishments include: tandem feeding them a bench on the Hermosa Beach Pier, tandem on the plane several times (once, a flight attendant saw me start nursing both right before takeoff and I was told I couldn't hold them both for takeoff and landing...only allowed one lap child...so keep that in mind, wait til the flight attendants are already sitting before you try to tandem nurse on a plane :winking0009: ) and I even tandem nursed at LAX!! All without showing too much skin at all, and I'm fairly modest. Anyway, just thought I'd share that it is possible to go on vacation and tandem nurse along the way...it was WAY easier than dealing with formula, bottles and solids, that's for sure!

    ETA: No nicknames..I know BORING!

We are 4 months into breastfeeding. I have survived the first month (which was crazy with jaundice, weight loss, sleep deprivation), going back to work for six weeks and pumping, flying halfway around the world, and now we are settling in as a stay at home mom. Needless to say, we don't really have a routine yet, but I'm hoping it'll come soon!

My favorite quote so far happened when we met our next door neighbor and she says "oh, they look really healthy - what formula are you using??" and the look on her face when I told her it was all breastmilk!

Nickname - boring, but lots of my friends just call me "E".

Hi Everyone! Still going strong nursing here at a little over 8 months. I really can't believe how much I've come to enjoy my time with the girls. I started out only aiming for the recommended year, and wanting to smack every visiting nurse that came out the first month and talked about what a 'wonderful bonding experience nursing was' and then the light went on and I get it now  ...and now that the time is quickly approaching, I'm not so sure that I'll be ready to stop. So I've been throwing out little comments here and there to folks who assume that we'll be done...but we'll see!

I too like pp enjoy the shocked looks on everyone's faces when you tell them your bfing twins and that you do it at the same time 8) Hee, hee, gives me a chuckle everytime! And besides the chuckle, I really like letting folks know that it can be done! So many people assume that it won't work and that you automatically have to use formula. And if you do, you do, but it's not a given.

The girls are getting two meals of solids a day and are doing really well with that. Searra tries to 'chew' the purees, it's pretty funny, so they started getting cheerios the other day and are doing really well with those. Ellie can actually get them into her own mouth, and Searra can sometimes. They're both pulling to a stand and Ellie's almost cruising.

I can't believe how fast the past 8 months have gone!

Oh, and my nickname is the same as my screen name: Chillers but only DH call me that. It's short for Chinchilla...when we started dating, my roommate had a chinchilla and DH said my skin was soft like chinchilla and it got shortened from there. Pretty mushy I know, but I think it's cute!

I'm at 4 months with Elizabeth. She is nursing great, but won't take a bottle of pumped milk at all right now. I have to say that I'm feeling a bit trapped some days :( I love nursing her, but really would love just a little break. I think I'm just emotional too b/c I feel like I have to miss some things b/c Elizabeth can't come with me. For example, we're invited to DH's cousin's wedding but they won't let me bring the baby, so I think DH is going to have to go without us. Which pretty much stinks b/c it's in NC and I'll have to spend the weekend at home alone with all 3 kids! Sorry to complain, I'm just feeling a little overwhelmed today!!! No naps for the big kids and it took about 2 hours to get Elizabeth settled for bed!

Elizabeth had her 4 month appt. yesterday and is growing big! She is 25 inches long and weighed 12 lbs and 10 oz. I had to order her new "big girl" carseat today b/c the height limit on her carrier is 26 inches!

The pedi said we could start solids, but I'm going to put it off for a few more months. I have too much going on right now to juggle that too!

Nicknames... my twin sister calls me Mel

We are still bf at 16 months old... I just decided on Monday night that I wasn't going to nurse in the middle of the night anymore. Mama needs her sleep and I am soooooo over getting up 4 times a night. They cried for only a couple of minutes the first night and have been sleeping through ever since. Now the question is why didn't I do this sooner? Because I am either crazy or dumb not sure which. It feels so incredibly good to sleep an entire night. I haven't experienced this in over two years  I am going to let them get used to sleeping through the night for another week or so then that is it. I am cutting out the before the bed nursing then we will be done. I am ready. And I actually thing they are too.

We took away the binkies then slowly cut down the nursing. They have done so much better than I thought. It has been a wonderful experience. And all these ladies on this board who keep getting pregnant are making me want another!

I have a few nicknames Mel, Melis, and Moochie (don't ask  )

We are down to twice a day at 14 months. I start back to school next week and didn't want to pump, so they are happy with their sippies in the middle of the day. All summer, though, dd2 has been getting up at 11:30 and 5:30 to eat. I don't know what to do, because last night I tried letting her cry and she woke the two others. We are going to have to figure something out soon though... I don't like 5:30am especially on the weekends.

All of my husband's friends call me Momma...

We are at 13 months. There was a tough start, but now everything is super easy. I guess we nurse at wake-up, once in the morning, once or twice in the afternoon and before bed. DS gets up 2 -3 X per night, DD 1X

In college my nickname was "Evil."

    We're done.

My girls finished up about a month ago at 21 months of age.

I have really mixed emotions about it, as they'll be my last babies, if my husband has anything to do with it..

Weaning was led by me, initially, starting at ~16 months. At 19-20 months they were down to 1x per day, and that gradually lessened, with 1 DD asking for milk more than the other, first 5-6x per week, then 4-5x per week, and so on.

It was very natural, but I'm sad to see it go, nonetheless.

No nicknames here, how boring, I know  !!!

We are nursing about 4-6 times a day on average at almost 15 months, with no nursing at night. I would like to be down to 2x a day by 18 months, but we have a lonnnnggg way to go, lol!!
I have really enjoyed nursing my two and love the bond we have because of it. It is guarenteed quiet, peaceful, holding time with mommy. I basically only tandem feed.
We have flown/traveled with the babies over 7 times now and I really like the freedom nursing allows during the trips, as long as I am there we have food :p
I always thought that nursing past 12 months would hold the babies "back" and now I see that is soooooo not true. They grow up (unfortunatly!) just as fast as all the other babies.

For all the beginning bfing moms, take it day by day :)

I've been providing milk one way or another for over 6 months now. I pumped for them while they were in the NICU, and now tandem nurse them all day. DS often needs a feeding around 1-2 am, and DH gives him a bottle (EBM if we have any, formula if not). DD sometimes joins him, more often sleeps until 4 am. Whenever anyone's hungry after about 3 am or so, the milk bar is open for business. :)

The babies are happy and healthy and growing like crazy - DD's length would be 95th percentile for a baby two months older than she is! After suffering severe IUGR and being below the 2nd percentile for over 2 months in the womb, DS is now nicely back on the charts again, around 50th percentile weight & length.

I am so inspired with all the stories I read here of nursing toddlers! WTG, moms! I really hope that my kidlets will be interested in nursing that long.

My nickname, used only by DH, is the Greek word for "kettle." It comes from a Greek proverb that you use when two oddballs who are perfectly suited to each other find each other by accident (as happened with us  ): "The kettle rolled over and found its lid." (Sounds much cooler in Greek, but hey, what can you do.)

My family calls me Lestee Lou Lou (my name is Celeste). Have NO idea where they got it from LOL

My boys are almost 11 months (next Sunday). We're doing well here. I have yet ANOTHER blister. I get those dang things every few months, so my nip is hurting right now.

But other than that, we're doing good.
