update: they are home!

On wednesday, the doctor called us up to NICU to "room in" before they allow them to come home. They said they usually let them go home 24-48 hours after. We had to make it seem like home and build questions for the nurse. It was also an opportunity to ask for help if we needed it. Well, Braelynn wouldnt cooperate and was taking in about half of what she should have been eating. We thought for sure they werent going to let them go home. We were both in tears and then at the last feeding she did it! The nurse called the dr and asked what to do with all of it, and the dr. said to go ahead and let them go!! We were so elated, but terrified at the same time! The first night was crazy. We found out Braelynn doesnt eat much during the day because she is a total night owl
Now its Friday and we are sleep deprived, but finally getting the hang of it. I finally feel like my family is complete with all the girls together here at home with me and DH.

 

So nice that they are home!! Thanks for the update! I hope you can switch the night owl around!

It is very nice to have something awesome to report. It has been a crazy week in NICU! Lots of emotional ups and downs. I thank God that everything is okay and they are here with me.

Glad to hear you're all together now. You'll get your groove and before you know it, you won't remember how it was before they arrived because you'll be so comfortable in your new role to 3 kiddos. Congrats!

HAHAHAHA!! What is sleep? HAHAHAHA!!

Kaitlyn is doing surprisingly well with them. We let her go to the NICU with us a couple of times to introduce the girls to her. Now that they are home she is trying so hard to be helpful. DH took 2 weeks vacation to be home with us which has been a tremendous help. I think everything will work out, but I know the first few months are going to be a blur...
