**UPDATE ON** Vanishing Triplet, Heartbeat and Possible Twin

Well - we went in or our u/s today aaannnnnnddd....

"Maybe Baby" now has a very strong heartbeat!!!!! :icon_eek: :icon_biggrin:

He/she is still quite a bit smaller than Baby #1, but RE said that the heartbeat was EXCELLENT. He also said that with multiples sometimes it can be "iffy" up until 12 weeks. As the babies grow they could compete for nutrients and if that happened, Baby #2 might not make it, but so far it's safe to say we're having twins. Wow. I'm in total shock!!!!! DH is sooooo relaxed about it - I'm the one freaking out! I feel so blessed, yet I'm so scared at the same time. Is this normal? Most of all I am so worried about carrying them to as close to term as possible.

Soooo - it looks like I can join your board! I am still in shock and disbelief. It may take me a few days to let it alllll sink in! Thanks so much for your replies!

I was quite shocked when I found out we were having twins as well but now I couldn't imagine my life any other way!

Congratulations! and :sign0016: I am really excited for you. I know when I found out I was expecting twins, it took a long time for it all to sink in. I have four other children. 3 are mine and 1 is step. It's funny that this time, I keep rubbing my rounding belly thinking, wow, I am already showing so much! What fun!

It's funny that you mentioned your DH being relaxed about it. My DH has been the same way throughout my pregnancy, even through all of our ups and downs. (And he's been right so far, btw...)

Congratulations, and I’m still in shock… every once and a while it will REALLY hit me… but this was obviously meant to be… and for some reason its easier to take when you really accept that fact… IMO

 

That is just great!!! I'm so happy for you! Blessed and Scared are how I have felt too! I don't think the worry will go away until we have our babies in our arms!!

I spent my entire 1st trimester terrified something would go wrong. After so many healthy check-ups, I'm just starting to relax and think everything will turn out fine. My husband has been completely relaxed about everything too! He's never been concerned about the pregnancy or raising two babies at once. So, yeah, you two sound completely normal to me.
