Went for our 22 week appt. today. Started off good, gained 4lbs in the last 4 weeks. Got another look at the girls. Right now they are basically laying on top of each other. One is head down, the other feet down. They looked like they were kicking each other. Right before she tunrned off the machine, Baby A started waving at us from right under my belly button [IMG]

My B/P was up from last appt. and it looks like I am starting to swell (minimal right now though) She is going to check to see if I am spilling any protein. So for now ~ she wants me to stop my recess duty (I work at an Elementary School) and when I'm working with the kids, try to keep my feet up some. I go back in two weeks for another urine test and to check B/P.

Next week we go to the PERI for echocardiograms on the girls. Then start seeing the PERI every two weeks for cervix checks. A few weeks later we'll start measurement checks also.
So...not a terrible appt. ~ just didn't realize that my B/P was up and the swelling. SORRY for the long post!!

Please don't ever apologize for length of posts!

Sorry to hear about the BP and swelling. Keep drinking as much water as you possibly can! The more you drink the less you will retain!

Glad to hear the babies were performing for the 'camera' [IMG]!

Take it as easy as you can!

Does the school nurse have a bp cuff in her office? Could you possibly have her check your bp once in the morning, once at the end of school? If she can, keep a written record of your bp. Watch for increased swelling, decreased urine output, a headache that wont go away with tylonel, pain under your right breast, or even if you just feel "off". Make sure to report any thing different to your doctor. Sounds like you are dealing with PIH (pregnancy induced hypertension) right now, which may or may not turn into preeclampsia (this can happen at any time, so its important to keep up on how you are feeling. You may want to check out www.preeclampsia.org Many women there have gone through PIH too. Keep us updated, I will keep you and your babies in prayer [IMG]

Cassie is always so good with advice about the risks of HBP and Pre-e. Listen to her! I really don't have any personal experience with this at all, but just from hanging out on this board long enough I've realized that things can change really fast, and we've got to stay on top of it, and really be proactive about any changes we're feeling. Good luck, and congrats on your girls!

I agree...try to take it easy. Hopefully things will improve with your BP etc. Just curious...why do your girls have to have echos done? I think someone else mentioned this in another post and I was just wondering if it was standard for some doctors or what?

Isn't it so fun to be able to watch your babies?!

    Melissa ~

We're having echocardiograms done due to my fiancee's previous son. He and his ex had a son that was born with a hole in his heart. Sadly, he passed away the next day. The PERI says that the chances of this happening again are less than 1%. Thanks for asking!
