Update on Ryan

Thank you so much to everyone who has sent thoughts and prayers our way. It has has a very scary and emotional weekend. They are still trying to figure out what is going on, as Ryan had no fevers or infections when the seizures started. We are going to do a 24 hour monitoring where he will be monitored by video and EEG continuously for 24 hours. Hopefully that will give us some answers. He is doing good and is happy except when the nurses bother him. They had to start an IV in his head because his veins in his hands and feet weren't holding up. He did not like his EEG at all, and cried the whole time. It is so hard to see him go through this, I hope we can get some answers soon. Here are some pics of my sweet little boy in the hospital.

Poor baby! What a cutie, even when he's going through so much. Hang in there...you will get answers, it'll just take some time. :hug99:

Sorry Ryan is going thru all this. I see you have the unicorn pictures. That is what we thought my daughter looked like way back when when she had the IV in her head as a baby. I even have a scrapbook page entitled THE LITTLE UNICORN. Hope everything turns out well for you and Ryan

 

I'm so sorry, I missed your first post when this began!

I hope this is a short lived ordeal and the docs are able to get to the bottom of it quickly. It's so heartbreaking to see your baby in the hospital. I'm sorry you, him and your family has to go through this.

 

He is such a cutie!! I hope the tests will give you some much needed answers. Good luck. :hug99:

:hug99: What a scary ride this has been for you. I hope they can figure it out soon. It must be so hard having your baby in the hospital. My DD was hospitalized briefly when she was a couple months old, and it broke my heart - I can't imagine how tough it must be for you with not only another twin but older kids at home too!

Shelley what a beautiful sweet boy you have! I am so sorry you are going through this. It brought tears to my eyes to look at the pictures then read that he was crying an dso upset. I can not imagine what you must be going through right now. I will continue to add sweet Ryan to my prayers. My ds is ryan and is really the sweetest boy.

Well, Ryan is home now, and we still don't have any answers. The docs saw his seizures, so they know that there is a problem, but all of his tests are normal. He hasn't had any episodes for a couple of days, but if he does we will take him back to the hospital to do more monitoring. Hopefully whatever his little problem was will not come back, and he will be a happy healthy baby boy! I really believe that everyone's thoughts and prayers helped little Ryan. Thank you so much.

 

I'm sorry you're still in the dark about the cause of all this - but so happy your little sweetie is back home! Still sending lots of good vibes your way...
