Update on Pregnancy Surprise....

Had our ultrasound yesterday and it turns out we have just ONE baby--whew! I am relieved. We are just 6 weeks long, and when we do the math, sure enough, I got pregnant while on antibiotics. I thought that just a myth my mom told me to scare me, but turns out it is true that your pill is indeed less effective while on antibiotics. Image that! We are due Sept 9th and it is still settling in...but we are VERY excited. I can't even imagine how easy just one baby will be (not to mention carrying just one baby Thank you ALL for you support over the last few days with my news. This is the worlds best forum, I am totally convinced!

 

Yep!! that is how I got my ds#2 !! CONGRATULATIONS!!!!! I am SO excited for you!!!!!! Do you plan on finding out the sex of the baby this time?

I don't think we will. We didn't with the twins and, as hard as it was, it was so worth it at delivery! Just seems like so long to wait to find out

eh.... you'd be surprised how hard one baby can be! LOL Carrying one was so much easier, but taking care of one has been so much harder... Especially for DH. He said with 2 babies we each knew we had one to take care of. With just one baby we are falling over ourselves trying to take care of him.. And he's jealous that I'm BFing and baby always wants momma.... ah well what can ya do?? It's fun though! more time to enjoy watching them discover things like feet and hands... LOL

 

Congrats! (I'm surprised your dr didn't warn you about the abx -- I think every time I've been on them, my dr has reminded me to use a backup method of birth control. But I didn't realize the anti-Pill effect was so powerful!) And enjoy the one baby.

Before I had kids, I was put on antibiotics and asked the pharmacist how likely they were to work against my birth control. He told me it ONLY lowers it to like 90%. I said - but then you have a WHOLE baby! (So we used condoms....)

 

I am so happy for you and your growing family. I really want another; however, DH does not...perhaps I should try the antibiotics trick (JUST KIDDING, sort of )!

 

Congratulations. I'm also having a surprise baby (just one!) about one month sooner than you (August 5). I wish you a happy, healthy pregnancy. I have been sooo sick lately and I really hope you can avoid that.

Well this is weird....I'm jealous! Who'd of thought?! I'm really happy for you and can't wait to hear how much easier things will be for you guys (which I really believe they will). CONGRATULATIONS :clapping:
