I took mine to the pedi today to have their diaper rash looked at. They've had it forever and I've tried every cream and antifungal under the sun. Well it turns out it's cellulitis (a staph infection) and they need oral and topical antibiotics. I'm kind of annoyed that they pretty much ignored me the first time I called abut it, but hopefully this will get it cleared up. They didn't even need to culture it b/c she knew what it was right away. Thanks for all of the suggestions the other day.

Yea, I would be ticked too! My pedi's office (the staff) does the same thing- acts like it isn't anything. They've even made comments before questioning my judgment as a mother! And that irks me! I hope your kiddos get their little bottoms cleared up!!

Wow that sounds serious. I'll have to keep an eye on H... she gets that same kind of rash once in a while but it usually goes away. Thanks for the info. Glad it will be clearing up soon.

That would IRK (to be nice) the HECK out of me! If, after 2 years they can't trust that I KNOW something is bad and different about THIS RASH, then that would make me mad! [IMG] Sorry you had to go through that!!

I hope they feel better soon!! [IMG]

Oh wow, I'm glad they finally decided on a diagnosis. I would be annoyed too that it took so long. At least you were persistent. Hope it starts to clear up soon.

Wow - that would upset me too. But I'm glad you finally got it figured out and hope that it clears up quickly!!

My daughter had that same infection and the antibiotic cleared it up pretty quickly. She's prone to rashes too and it's so hard to tell when to be concerned. When she had the cellulitis there was a red, sore lump you could feel under the skin.

Glad to hear it'll be cleared up soon.

The "funny" part of the whole thing is that it didn't really occur to me to try the cream I have from when Andrew had cellulitis on his finger. I have a whole tube of it! It's probably the ONLY cream I didn't put on it [IMG] Oh well!

    How frustrating.....

At least you know what it is and hopefully it will clear up soon.

    Moms know best!
