It was good news at my 23 wk u/s today. The blood flow has not got any worse, in fact has even got a little better. Twin a was measuring at 500+ gms, twin b ay 330gm. Sorry, don't know in lbs, but I think 500gms is 1lb1oz. About a 44% size discrepancy. While for others this news would be horrible, for us it's great - the specialist have not been game to say whether twin b would make it, but it now seems like he has got a fighting chance.
HRM and indisbelief, how are your bubs going? Have you been given any indication of when they will want tyou to have them? The specialist today said we would start talking about that at 25 weeks (when the bast time to have them would be)
And Tarin, how are your 2 going? I've seen you mention your mono/dis were actually di/dis. Do they think they are identical or faternal? And do they know why Grayson was smaller?
Any one else think we should have a sticky about sIUGR twins? There seems to be a lot of us in the same boat.

That is good news! Hopefully he will continue to grow!! They aren't sure if the boys are identical or not, they do have the same blood type and look identical. I do think I will have them tested so we'll have to wait on that! The only thing I know is that Grayson's cord was "ugly" when my OB cut it. I'm not exactly sure what that means, except that when she cut it, it just kind of went limp she said. But because of the cord, he is actually doing better than his bigger brother. Not that Grandt isn't doing well, Grayson is just having less breathing episodes.

I hope your boy continues to do well and I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers!

Yes a sticky would be a great thing to have!!! I'm not sure how that's done.

So glad to hear about your good news, kymbahlee! I totally understand when you say 44% is good news. I always feel a little crazy when I type things like that in my updates to friends ( "wow, she's only 40% smaller!" ) but it's a big thing! Congratulations, 500g is a big milestone! Soon they'll both be there.

My girls are still doing ok, not much change from last time. I am at 27 weeks. B is measuring 530g and 22.5 weeks, A is measuring 940g and 26 weeks. They are both a little behind in growth; I think it's because of the steroid shots which I had 2 weeks ago (helps their lungs, but not their growth). Doppler flow is showing some resistance but not absent flow yet. Our goal is 32 weeks; this is probably the earliest that my little one will be able to make it on the outside. Anything after that is icing on the cake. My doc won't allow me to go beyond 34 weeks.

Just take it one day at a time!

Good to hear everyone is doing well and thanks all for the thoughts.
I check into NICU forum sometimes to check how your boys are going Tarin, glad they are doing well.
It is definitely a case of one day at a time, hrm17. Hope you reach your goal of 32 weeks and your little girls keep stacking on the gms!

I think a moderator needs to start any stickys. Any mods around to tell us more?
