so here i sit in the hospital on bedrest...yep back to the hospital :(. we came in on friday night with contractions and i ended up being diagnosed with pre-eclampsia...we are still waiting to get word on how severe it is but labs so far say mild, just waiting on urine analysis. so it's possible that now i will be on bed rest at the hospital until the birth of my sons which could very well be within days to a week or two. none of the doctors are confident that i will make it much past 35 weeks.

i have to say i am ready to have these babies. i know i'm only 33 and change but they aren't small are in very good health (always an 8/8 fetal score) and are close to 4.5lbs already. i'm just sooooooooooo uncomfortable. but i'm trying to hang in there.

so there you have it, week 3 on bedrest and now we have pre-eclampsia on board along with gestational diabetes...i swear i've gotten every complication that is possible with this pregnancy.

any advice to make the hospital stay more comfortable would help as i haven't really slept since i've been here and am very ansy and wanting to walk around....i don't do "rest" well.

    Hi hun,
I am also on hospital bedrest and not tolerating it too well. I have a shortened cervix and some contractions so that is why I am here...I am only 24 1/2 weeks pregnant. I wish I had some advice for you but I am in the same boat. Just wanted to say hi and tell you to hang in there ....you are almost there!!
    hugs,
    Kristin

The joys of twin pregnancy! Hospital bedrest is tough because i swear it drains what little motivation you have left to do anything. I've now been on strict bedrest for over 6 weeks with the last 1 1/2+ weeks of it here in the hospital. Your boys may surprise everyone with how long they can cook. None of the drs thought i would make it to this point and here i am still sitting at 4 cm dilated and cooking a day shy of 34 weeks. Wish i had advice for getting more comfortable but i honestly havent found anything to help other than asking for the eggcrate to be put on the bed which helped a lil bit. I'm a measly 5'4" and at 32 weeks my boys were measuring just shy of 5 lbs, so i understand how uncomfortable it can be! Dont hesitate to ask for ambien or something at night because that is the only way i have managed to get any sleep while here.

Hang in there. I am in that boat with having been at the hospital for the last 6 weeks for a dilated cervix and contractions. Just take your stay day-by-day and don't hesitate to reach out to your friends so they can visit. I've found that
I forget where I am for the span of a visit!

I'm exactly as far along as you are, 34 weeks today and I totally understand that you are ready any day. I am too!! I don't know that my body can handle much more. I've been lucky enough not to make it to the hospital yet but I've been on bedrest for 6 1/2 weeks at home. Something I did read for hospital bedrest is ear plugs and eye mask. I don't think I'd personally be able to handle something over my eyes or blocking my hearing for too long but it's possible it could help?? Good luck to you!!
