I'm livid. I went and had another NST that went well and then had an OB appointment afterwards where I was SUPPOSED to schedule my c-section for 12/26; when I will be 38 weeks and 1 day.
And as some of you read before I was mad about keeping them cookin' even that long. But came into acceptance of it. Then today I ask to schedule the c-section and the doctor says sure and goes and talks to the attending doctor...
Long story short- they will not schedule a c-section before 39 weeks now. WHICH BLOWS MY MIND. This is inhumane at this point!!!

Next week, when I See a different doctor I'm going to pretend like they never told me that and ask the DR. to schedule my c-section.

Apparently with contractions 6-9 minutes apart they don't think I will make it that far anyways.
It is just so hard to hear a different thing every week. I hate our health care system!!

    just needed to vent!!! :)

No. They are Di/Di, B/G, Fraternal twins! And they have a lot of liquid.
They both are head down. Baby A is extremely low...

hi, i would be cranky too...sounds like they just want you to go on your own and are waving a c section in front of you like a carrot to a donkey.

My ob has said if i am willing to forgo a vag del, he will del me by c sect no later than 36 wks, but i am having mono /di.

keep pestering, i would be going crazy too at 39 wks, thats just cruel! ang in theiir

sorry they are putting you thru the ringer i think anything over 36 weeks is awesome and with ur girl being so low i can imagine how uncomfortable for you that must be, maybe u will go into labor on your own soon and you can tell them Piss off (lol, sorry) i think i would be ready at your point to get them out and see those babies. goo luck and hope the other dr gives u a date!!

haha thanks ladies! At least we are laughing about it right now! I'm just guessing the guy upstairs has got a plan and as long as I am in acceptance of everything, it will work out how it should.
This is the rational me after I just took a shower and am watching tv :) haha

Glad to hear that you are a little more relaxed. You have every right to be mad about getting told something different everytime. Hopefully your dr. is just trying to let them stay cooking as long as possible. My dr. hasn't even talked about a plan of action yet. Hope you get a better answer from the other dr. Good luck.

Hi there! We are due on the same day and we've had a c-section planned for the 19th for quite a few weeks. My babies are breech/transverse but last week I went in for a biophysical and OB visit and he shocked me by saying he and my peri decided to let me go to 39 weeks. My babies are mono/di and I thought it wasn't recommended to go after 38 weeks. I honestly can't even imagine going that far and what are the odds of them turning the bigger they get.

I'm planning on discussing this with him again tomorrow. I feel like it would just be best and more peaceful to just schedule a section. I don't know what he'd say though. We had dh's vacation and help all lined up and now he switched things. However, I am scared to death of a c-section!

So I know what your going through...it's sure been an emotional roller coaster with this pregnancy and you've had more going on in your life than I have. Hugs to you! We WILL see our babies soon!

I'd be livid too. Are you working with a perinatologist? They should know better than to stretch it past 37 weeks no matter if they are frat or ID babies. Are they head down?

if they are monochorionic/diamniotic, print these out and bring them with you:

For di/di twins it is ok to go that long.

However, totally understand about the op being upset over them not wanting to schedule at 38 weeks. I think by that point, it should be an option!!

Hope it all works out how you want it too. Maybe since the one baby is so low you won't have to worry about scheduling :)

haha, well maybe we will both end up having our babies on January 1st!
That is if neither of us go into labor.
Glad to know you are in the same boat- as messed up as that sounds! haha

Maybe they will come before the first and be your new tax exemptions ;)
I know the last few weeks are really hard but so are the first few weeks of newborn twins. especially ones that have come too early KWIM?

Are you completely opposed to having them vaginally? I know it's got to be uncomfortable, especially as far along as you are, but if you are able to do so, you might as well wait and hope for them to come at Christmas! Maybe Santa will bring you the twins Christmas Eve! I hope it all works out. I know it has to be frustrating to be told something different every time you go in. I would be upset too! My cousin was born 12-27, and my Aunt and Uncle got to bring her home in a Christmas stocking provided by the hospital... that would be a neat memory! Something to keep forever... you may want to check into something like that... find out if the hospital does anything special for Christmas deliveries.

I may be totally wrong and just too suspicious here, but could it be the doctors don't want to schedule the c-section for the 26th because they want to be off between Christmas and New Years?

My c/s wasn't scheduled til 39w4d! My OB would not schedule a c/s before 39wks. I was really mad!! More so cause I didn't get to pick the day (only did surgeries on Tuesdays). However, my girls came 36w5d due to abnormal bloodflow through the umbilical cord for Claire (A). I told them to pick their own birthday and they did. However, I wish they would of made it til then cause they would of been bigger.

The longer the better....though I think 38wks is fine.

How frustrating! I hope you get a date soon. 39 weeks does seem like a long time. My OB's office will not go past 38 weeks. If my 38th week was not exactly on Christmas, they would have delivered then.
