Just wanted to tell you guys about our EI eval today. We met with the initial intake screening lady and both boys passed all of the developmental milestones with flying colors. Yay! I had her come for both because I was like 2% worried that Jacob's walking wasn't progressing normally-- he has a weird posture (IMO). Turns out he is totally fine, and very ahead socially. Not a surprise... he's such a total party boy & flirt. hehe

Jackson excelled on all of the evals, but the lady was great about reaffirming my concern about his overstimulation & tantrums. I've felt like something just wasn't "right" in that department with him for a long time. So, she told us how we can go about obtaining an OT eval and possibly some work with an OT to help improve his tolerance to stimulation. She told us it sounds like a sensory regulation disorder and it is very important to address this early because it can lead to emotional & social problems which can then inhibit development down the road. Her own son had a similar disorder and he really thrived with OT... so, I am very excited to be able to potentially help my son. Part of me feels really good to be validated for my maternal intuition, and just plain observations. My mother has constantly downplayed my concerns and has told me that "some kids are just like that" but I really don't think that's the case with him-- he's pretty extreme when he gets overstimulated... and he's so traumatized by those moments that I really want to be able to help him cope better!

Anyway, that's the scoop. Thanks to all of you who gave input on my previous post about this. :)
