So the doctor said she didnt' need to see him but i am feeling otherwise after seeing his lip a day later, i included a link to the picture, i need opinions again just to reassure me!! Also, the piece that connects his gum and lip, is torn.

I think that I would take him to the doctor. He may need to see a plastic surgeon.

I don't know. It doesn't look very good to me. I would bring him in anyway just for reassurance. Poor baby. It looks like it really hurts. I was told that the skin that connects the lips to the gums often rips for kids at some time. Most kids have a fall at some point that separates that piece so I don't think that is a big deal but again, I would have your ped reassure you. Let us know how he is doing.

Glad you got in!!! I would have them check it for sure!! They might just tell you that it will heal on it's own, but I would want to know for sure!!! :hug99:

Ouch! Good that you are double checking. I am fairly certain that cuts like that (as bad as it looks) will heal really well b/c they are inside the mouth. Phoebe's split lip went out onto her lips right to the edge. Today I can barely see it. Here is a photo of her:

Phoebe's Lip Today This is a goofey photo of her but shows her lip well!

So I think truly his lip will be fine. It just takes a while to heal and it's good that his cut is all inside his mouth. Howver, I am not a doctor and it's always good to go with your mommy gut. Glad you are taking him into double check!

Yes, I would take it to be seen. They can't tell severity over the phone. Glad you got in!!!

I would take him...but to reassure you, it will be fine. My daughter was bitten by a dog when she was 2. The cut completely split her lower lip so that the two sides of her mouth were basically operating independently (it was really unreal...not something I would wish anyone to see/endure). It is now over a year later, and although she has a scar, you would not believe how much she has progressed/healed. With the cut on the inside of his mouth, you won't be able to see it and he will be fine.
    Good luck,
    Jo

Sorry busy day yesterday, we went to the doctor on friday, everything is ok, his lip is actually healing nicely, already. He did tear the skin to his gums pretty badly, but she said they would have clipped that when he was older anyway becuause his is very thick. But it all ended well, and i am very glad i took him!
