Ladies it's me and i'm here to report some bad news, we lost baby b (Jonathan) on sunday at 2:20am, he was 10 inches, 7 ounces, perfect and beautiful. We still have hope for baby a (Matthew), my cervix closed up and we are waiting 72 hours for any possible infection, no sign yet, I'm keeping my spirits up with hope. The problem i have is that the placenta did not detach so i still have the cord hanging around, tomorrow the dr. will decide what to next, we are taking it day by day. Thank all of you for your prayers. I'll keep you posted.

Hey ladies, I haven't checked them in a few days. I finally have some good news the dr. just came in and said that cervix is completely closed 3.9cm, baby Matthew is good and whatever we are doing to continue she doesn't have to do the cerclage and she thinks more and more that my cervix is not incompetent. She along with all the dr.'s here can't explain what has happened and how we are doing so well. She's keeping me here probably until I give birth and gave me bathroom privileges, but other wise i've kept my spirits up, but I take it hour by hour. There are some hours that are better than others. For the most part I'm keeping positive but I still feel pretty sad and a part of me is missing. Thanks for all your prayers.

I'm so glad to hear that Matthew is hanging in there. I'm so sorry about the loss of Jonathan. I cannot imagine being in your shoes, trying to stay positive for Matthew and at the same time needing to mourn the loss of Jonathan. Hopefully the ladies over on parental grief can help you get some of this out, and give you some ideas for what you can do in the future to remember and honor the life of Jonathan in a positive way.

I'm glad things are going well and Matthew looks great. I am very surprised they are giving you bathroom privileges though. I know I was told after Emilie was born that I was not able to leave the hospital bed for any reason until Trevor was born. They didn't want to risk him coming as well. After Emilie was born her placenta was still inside as well, they were afraid it might be attached to Trevor's, so they didn't want to remove it. They did check my white blood cells count several times a day for possible infection and that was the reason they eventually ended up taking Trevor by c-section.

I wish you lots of luck. Things sound good!
