update on Addison

We took Addison to the surgeon (about swollen lymph nodes in her groin) they are going to remove the largest two or three Monday and send them for a biopsy and culture. the surgeon does not think Addison has anything too bad but given her history we have to rule it out Addison has been sickly for months and the surgeon said that lymph nodes this swollen in a baby are not normal. hearing the c word in reference to your child is awful I spent all day yesterday feeling sick. All this time Addison has looked so sickly and has been my much less active twin - but wouldn't you know it - today she looks so much better and is playing happily with her sister! I am so glad but it makes me question Monday's surgery! I guess like the surgeon said at least if the biopsy is negative - we will not have to worry! poor girl! I wish I had a way of knowing why her lymph nodes are so large with out surgery!


While we were checking out (we actually scheduled the surgery for Wed Feb 6) the surgeon sent her assistant to the front desk to tell us that Wednesday was too far she wanted it done Monday!! that threw us off because why do a couple of days matter?? they had to rearrange her schedule to work us in Monday?? so after that I really wanted to throw up.

 

I will be keeping Addison in my prayers. That has got to be scary to ever hear the C word and your child in the same sentence. I pray that it is nothing.

Kids always seem to act better right before you get things taken care of don't they! They gotta make you question everything!!

:love0028: I'll be thinking of Addison. They most likely bumped up the surgery a few days so you sould have a few less days of worrying and just get it over with. Keep us posted.

 

Heather, I will be thinking of Addison and your family. :hug99: Maybe the surgeon realized she had available time on Monday and wanted to fill it, doctors never have idle time if there are any patients they can be seeing. How long will it take to get the biopsy results?

FWIW, I gave my mom a scare when I was about 7yo I guess. But I had huge swollen lymph nodes on my neck. The docs wanted them checked out right away and sent us to the Childrens Hospital in OK City (we lived in Oklahoma at the time). But the city was 3 hours away. Anyhow...it turned out to be nothing! So That is what I hope for your little one...that it's nothing!
