Update of Peyton and u/s pics

So we went to the Pediatric Cardiologist yesterday and also met with the Peri who will deliver Peyton. First off, at 34 weeks and 5 days, he weighs a wopping 5lbs 2oz. He's in great shape and healthy other than Transposition of the great arteries and they did find that he has a small hole in his heart as well. They did say that by the time he's born, the hole will probably have closed. That's good news. They changed my delivery date to the 13th instead of the 15th but we have to have an amnio done on the 12th to be sure that he's ready. Anyways, they gave us an ultrasound before we met with the peri and i've attatched the photo's that we got. I think they're sooo cute!

This is peytons heart. If you look close you see the two empty circles in the middle...that's the chambers of the heart, the other two arent visible b/c they were pumping obviously so they ddint show up. If you notice that his heart opens up to the right and goes "out" parallel to each other. That's whats wrong. They're not supposed to go out parallel to each other but rather cross each other and supply oxygen to the blood. That's what TGA looks like in an ultrasound.

Awe, what great news about the heart! Goodluck with the delivery and all...I'm sure that all will go well. I'll have to check out the pics later as I don't have access from work.

Anni had a small hole; but it closed by the time we went to our 6mo check-up - no more murmur! I'm glad everything will be ok. Thanks for the update, and I LOVE the pics!

 

Sara, thanks for the good outlook on that! We werent really really concerned but it was one of those things that i was thinking "what if it's bigger than what they see" but on the U/S you couldnt even see the hole but you could tell by the colors that there was a tiny one there. I hope we have as good as luck as you did with Anni....Thanks!!!
