Here;s an updated on the boys. They were born Friday. March 28th. James Michael came out
first at 7:17pm kicking and screaming weighing 6lb 7oz followed 11 minutes later
by Luke Aaron weighing 6lb 4oz. Neither of the boys had to be taken to the NICU
and were in the room with DH and I within hours. We felt so blessed to have
a vaginal delivery so that I could recover quicker and that the boys were so
healthy. They both started out breastfeeding like champs. We spent Saturday in
the hospital and we all got discharged Sunday morning. Leaving the hospital
Sunday morning DH and I felt so relieved that we wouldn't have to spend any
more time in there. We have been in and out so much over the pregnancy and I
finally felt like I could get back to being Anna's mom and now Luke and James'
    too.

Unfortunately that wasn't going to happen. Sunday evening while I was holding
James after a feeding be turned blue and stopped breathing. After jumping up
and totally freaking out he came around. The entire episode only lasted
seconds. We called our Pediatrician and family friend who said we needed to
take James to the emergency room at Emory's children's hospital. We took both
boys and James was admitted to be observed. Its been determined that he has
reflux and apnea. He was suppose to come home with us on Tuesday but an hour
before he was to be discharged he had another episode. This time the doctors
were able to witness the event and also recorded it on the monitor hooked up to
James. They've determind that James has apnea, reflux, and swallow issues. Thre great news is he
ll out grow all of it.

Please pray for James. Anna and Luke aren’t allowed in the NICU
so DH been spending every night (in a chair) with James and I’ve been
going back and forth during the day. I’m still breastfeeding Luke and pumping for
James. We hope some of the medication they put
James on will help him with the swallowing and breathing and we get to take him
tomorrow. We're so sleep deprived so please forgive me for rambling or not
    being clearer.

Thank you for all your prayers we know they’re being heard.

    Blessings,
    Sharon

Oh Sharon! I got your card today and when I saw that James wasn't home I came right on here to find out what happened! I'm so sorry. That is exactly what kept both my boys in the NICU. We also thought they were coming home and then they BOTH had episodes! Hang in there sweetie! You've done so much to get those precious boys into the world and you're doing a great job now. The NICU/PICU is an exhausting journey, but it will be over shortly. I'm so glad you are able to visit so often and pump for James. Is your mother still in town to help?

Sending you many prayers and hugs! :love0028:

P.S. Have your DD draw James a picture to keep with him in the hospital. It will help her feel like she is helping.

    Sharon-
So glad that everyone is doing OK and that your delivery was a smooth one. We will keep James in our prayers that he will quickly out grow the reflux and doesn't have any more of those scary apnea spells.
    Hang in there.

Thanks everyone for all the prayers and support. We brought James home yestarday and its so scary to have the monitor and feeding tube at home. We also are having to administer his caffine and prevacid. My moms leaving today and my husband will be home with me next week but it seems like so much to handle, especially with a 22 month old and another twin. I keep thinking that there are mothers out there doing the exact samething or even more with their little ones and I can do this too. I guess we just take it one day at a time.

    Thanks again for everything!
