I had my 13 wk appt according to U/s its 13 wks; according to LMP its 12:stars: My doctor tried to listen to the heartbeats-of course when i didnt hear anything i started to feel worried-he said that they are still very low in the pelvic but he heard 3 heartbeats; just couldnt make it out who's who's ? My u/s in next friday the 12th so i really wont know until then whats happening-I hate not knowing maybe now my husband will let me rent a doppler:)
Has this happen to to anyone and the babies were ok?

hi, my dr found it hard early on , too, he could find mine, and one other, but he assured me that this was usual to have trouble picking up the heart beats early on. He also has a small u/s machine in his rooms, so we could check the babies quickly on there...two little heat beats...try not to worry...soon you will hear that lovely reassuring sound!

I think I know you from tww! The Dr I go to does an ultrasound at every appointment for that reason. It's just too hard to do doppler and know FOR sure that you are hearing each baby - especially early on. When I was hospitalized about a week ago, it took 2 nurses and a lot of time to get BOTH babies's heartbeats on the monitor at the same time and make sure they weren't just getting one in 2 places. Try not to worry!! Not distinguishing heartbeats at this point is very normal :) Can't wait to hear about your ultrasound!

    Cherie,

My Dr. always struggled to get heartbeats without the U/S machine. That is why early on they started giving me U/S at each appointment. I am anxious to hear how your U/S goes. I hope you have B/G like me. That would be so cool. 2 sets of twins in the family less than a year apart. Nana would be loving this right now. RIP NANA!

BTW if you do have B/G I have some very cute things for you!

Tammy i know wouldnt it be great! i had a dream last nite it was indentical boys! but i have a gut feeling its boy/girl too! Nana would be so happy for her grandkids:))) --Im going to ask at the u/s if they can peek at the sex-but i wont be stalk into it til the 18-20 wk u/s for sure! :D

Yeah, the doppler is a drag that way. At 11 weeks my OB couldn't hear any of the heartbeats but there they both were on u/s. At 16 weeks she wasn't sure she could hear both (which is still the way it is currently) and there they were, and we did find out the gender at 16 weeks!! Ultrasound is the way to go :) Congrats!
