    Hello ladies,
Thanx for all of your advice before about why baby B's amniotic fluid could be low. It turns out that our boys are identical! They share a placenta and now have TTTS (twin to twin transfusion syndrome) Jenny...you were right unfortunately, but thanx for the heads up. I was able to keep up with what the dr. was saying. It all sounds very scarey right now, but they're going to monitor them weekly at the peri and just try to keep them in as long as possible. Baby A weighs 2lbs. 4oz. and baby B weighs 1lb. 14oz...not too big of a gap right now. We're actually doing ok right now because we know it's not in our hands but in Gods and in God we do trust. Just keep us in your prayers...it would be greatly appreciated.

This is so good that you know this and are being monitored so closely. Everything will be fine - we had our twin boys 4 months ago and no one knew they were sharing a placenta and were identical (our ultrasounds showed two placentas up till birth). Low amniotic fluid and twin A (Jason) not moving resulted in an emergency c-section at 33.5 weeks and only then they discovered TTTS. Both boys are now fine although twin A, Jason, had a very low red blood count. We were lucky. They were also born quite big for the gestation - 4 lbs 9 oz and 5 lbs 12 ounces. They are now a whooping 18 and 21 pounds and have just turned 4 months! You are in good medical hands - I'm sure everything will be just fine with you and your babies. All the best!

I'm sorry it's TTTS :hug99: I know it's hard to find out you have a problem pregnancy (BTDT). But on a good note, every week you go from now on is HUGE! You've done great so far and it sounds like everything is being monitored.

Way to go, ID boys! :itwins_boys:

Sorry to hear that they have TTTS! I'm glad you were able to keep up with what they were saying. At 26 weeks, you're doing great!

Have you gone to the TTTS foundation website yet? There's a message board on there that's pretty helpful.

If I were you, I would go on bedrest right away - horizontal rest is best. Drink 3 high protein Boost drinks a day, slowly, throughout the day. Drink lots of water, and focus your energies on getting all the nutrients to your babies! You're getting u/s weekly, right?

Feel free to PM me anytime, I know how scary this is - but it's a good sign that you got diagnosed later rather than earlier. I've been on bedrest for 14 weeks and counting, and it's SOOOO worth it.

So, in general, how are the fluid levels in your babies? Can they see both bladders? Did they check the doppler flow? Those are the main things outside of the size discordance. You will get a ton of feedback on the TTTS foundation site if you go there - they're so supportive.

You know, we went from no fluid in our donor baby, and absent end diastolic flow (doppler) in our donor baby to evening out in fluid levels and everything - within 2-3 weeks of bedrest and protein drinks. It can be done. I'm at 32 weeks!

Good luck - hang in there - I'll be thinking of you - and hopefully I'll see you over on the TTTS site...
