i went to the ob b/c i thought i had a urinary tract infection, that seems to be ok - the midwife did an u/s b/c she couldnt hear the heartbeats...i found out that my placenta may be low lying and that my babies are identical - two separate sacks though...i'm a little concerned about the placenta, but i'm hoping it moves up...

the midwife says most of the twin pregnancies are followed at the practice, they only refer out if they need a consult or if there is a problem

Hi! I just want to let you know that a lot of women here including myself were diagnosed with a low lying placenta (around the same time as you) and has moved up as the pregnancy progressed. Doctors will not even diagnose it as previa until 20 weeks.

I also see a regular OB. They refer you to a specialist if there are problems with your pregnancy. wishing you a happy and uneventful pregnancy!

Ditto on the placenta. It was mentioned at one appt as "very low lying" and the peri was shocked I hadn't experienced bleeding and cramps from it but I guess it has moved up because I've had mo mention since. It usually moves up as the uterus grows.

    Hi There,
I had some mild spotting at 12 weeks and then again at 14 works. I was diagnosed with placenta previa by my OB and was immediately put on bed rest. I'm faternal twins so they each have their own placenta and only one of them is low. I was told by the doctors and others that with time the placenta will move up. But that bed rest is essential since it takes the pressure of my lower abdominal area.
Try and rest......and try not to worry too much. [IMG]
I hope everything works out - warm wishes for you and your family.
