Ok, this takes the cake. I was at my daughters' ballet exam yesterday. I was sitting in the waiting room with all 5 of my kids & my oldest daughter was holding Lila. This lady walks in the door, I assume she is the mom of one of the dancers (but who knows), walks straight over to my daughter & picks Lila up off of her lap! I was so stunned, I didn't know what to say & of course Lila, who ordinarily would scream if a stranger even looked at her, just stared at her. Well, I let her hold her for a few minutes & as soon as Lila made a peep, I took her (she then tried to tell me Lila was too cold  ). Minutes later she walked over & picked up Luke who was playing happily on the floor. Not a word to me, not even "may I hold your baby?" What are they - public property? Anyway, Luke promptly spit all over her, (she asked for it, didn't she?) and I actually had a hard time not laughing, but it worked & she didn't pick him up again! I don't know what some people are thinking, I'm usually pretty friendly with people who are interested in the babies, but really that's out of line!

Wow, I agree...totally out of line. I almost flipped today when a lady came up and touched the twins! I don't get it...I would never touch a strangers baby...let alone pick them up! :icon_eek:

Holy cow, I would have been very upset if someone picked up my baby without asking. Very very upset.

Yikes! I would freak! I don't even like strangers to come up and touch them. Looking and talking to them fine, but please don't touch unless you have permission!

I can't imagine picking up someone's baby like that, very inappropriate. Too bad one of them couldn't have pooped on her somehow! :p

It sounds like you didn't want to make scene, so you let her hold the babies. That's some incredible restraint. Have you seen her before? Sounds like she's one of those kinds of people that has no social skills what so ever. Hello - germs? kidnappers? personal space?

Wow that's really crazy! I was at Target and one of the worker's touched my son's hand and said what I thought was "Look there's something wrong with his hand". So very freaked out I said "what??!" And she touched him again and what she really said was "Looks like someone has their hands full."
So- I just went "uh yeah" and walked away and was totally disgusted that she touched his hand twice that he puts in his mouth. I couldn't even imagine if someone picked one or worse yet both of them up!! Wow!
