Ultrasounds / Growth Scans

Originally my doctors sent me to the high risk facility whcih is about 2-hours away from me - they were doing growth scnas every 3-weeks from very early on. Anyway, they said that once I was out of the danger zone I could continue with just my regular OB's as long as growth scans were continued there. Anyway, I am 36-weeks now and it has been a month since i have had one and last week when I asked my doctor he said whats the point now since we will know how big they are when they are born which will be shortly. Just wondering how often everybody else is having them and whether I should be concerned. I have only gained 11-pounds this pregnancy and no weight gain over the last month really. Curious to see what everybody else's docs are doing

 

My last official growth u/s was at 35 w. I got them every 3 weeks even though they thought the boys were mono/di. Turned out they were di/di. I know it depends on the type of twins. They did quickly check the boys' positions before my c-section at 37w3d. I would request another it's been long enough.

 

I'm not as far along as you but we've been doing growth scans since 24 weeks and do them every 4 weeks. We have an ultrasound at every appointment (so far it's every 2 weeks...guessing we'll be moving to weekly soon) but they said the growth scan is every other appointment. They haven't said how long that will continue. Can you talk to your OB about your concerns and see if they'll do one for reassurance. I would be worried about the lack of weight gain as well.

Every 4 weeks since 17 weeks

 

I got ultrasounds at every appointment from 12 weeks on.. So 12, 14, 20, 24, 26, 28, 32, 34 and 36 weeks.

 

Mine are every 4 weeks. Doctor only thinks we will have 1 more before the girls get here.

Mine are Mo/Di and we follow the same schedule..

 

I've only had three growth scans/ultrasounds thus far. I have a growth scan scheduled for this week (it's been about 4 or 5 weeks since my last one). I had an ultrasound at 12 weeks (when we found out we were expecting twins), then the anatomy scan at 22 weeks, and a growth scan at around 28 weeks. My girls are di/di and have been doing wonderfully, measuring right on target, etc., so I guess my doc isn't too concerned with a lot of growth scans. I trust my doc so as long as he's not worried about doing more neither am I.

 

Thank guys for the info; I think I will make a bigger issue out of it, just for the sake of getting some reassurance; if nothing else, the anxiety isnt helping

 

i was admitted to hospital at 30 weeks, and in one week ive had about 3 scans.

 

I'm only 27weeks3days, but I have had an u/s about every four weeks since 4weeks6days. I don't know if they will increase now that I am farther or be less.

 

At my practice, with twins you get a u/s at every visit. (Not sure if mine are "growth scans" or not. What does that involve?) I also get an internal u/s at every visit to measure the length of my cervix.

 

I only had 1 official growth scan and that was at around 20 weeks. I was seen every 2 weeks by my OB for the entirety of my pregnancy, and she did an u/s each and every time.
