So tomorrow is the big day. It is the u/s I talked my Dr. into to try and see if we can get a look if we are having boys or squirels. I am so excited I have an upset stomach! My dh thinks we won't get to see them b/c they might not reveal their goodies....I told him no one on TS has ever reported that situation. I just want to confirm. Was everyone able to get a look at the baby's privates? I am 18 weeks and 3 days, my ticker is one day off.

    Thanks everyone!

Hi there, at 17 weeks we found out that one of our guys was a boy, we had to wait for our 20 week U/S to find out that the other guy is also a boy!!! He was hiding his privates with BOTH hands! hehe...they do have a sense of humor already!

    Good luck to you!

    Missy

ps Drink some orange juice before you go in...the sugar will get them moving!

try to be careful and make sure they are not just guessing - at over 20 weeks, they told me my baby was a girl and were very confindent about it - when the baby was born, she was a he!!

With my son we never really got a firm he's a boy. They tried at 18 weeks, 22 weeks and it wasn't until he was born that we really knew he was a boy, never gave us a good shot of the goods.

With the girls our Baby B showed the goods, but A was on her tummy like her brother was. They tried at the next 2 u/s and at the last one it was confirmed with a good shot that she was really a she.

Uh-oh, so it seems my dh was right to be concerned. I am hoping we will get to see at least one.

I'm sure they will cooperate. Have fun seeing your little ones. Post an update when you get back.

twin a is supposed to be a girl, but we didn't find out until the second ultra sound. She was hidden by her bro, and had her legs shut. So depending on the position, like the pp have said, yes you could run the chance of not knowing.

Just think positive! Both of my girls cooperated.

mine cooperated pretty well!! I do agree on the OJ tip..the more active they are the more likely the tech will catch a good shot of them one way or the other. I do get a little nervous over them being wrong b/c you occasionally hear stories like the pp about the guess that turns out wrong. I was sooo convinced this one was a boy. But now i'm so used to the idea of another girl that I think I might be seriously disturbed if it turned out to be a boy...like I might feel a sense of loss over a girl? KWIM?

Only one of mine would reveal themselves at our 20 week U/S. We had to wait three more weeks to see what number two was. It can happen!

Neither of ours cooperated at 18w1d. I made the comment that I should have had some OJ and the tech said she couldn't get them still enough to get the shots she needed, so it's really good I didn't. We did see something concerning (it turned out o.k.) so they sent us to see a peri the following week. The peri told us two girls at 19w1d.

Well it looks like you are getting mixed reviews from everyone. That said both of mine cooperated at 17w and 20w. Good luck and let us know what you find out.

At our 18w scan we had definate confirmation that Baby A was a boy (NO mistaking it ;) ) but the tech could only give us a 80% chance that Baby B was a girl. She just wasn't cooperating and it was hard to get a good look at the goods. At my 24 week OB appt (u/s at every appt) my OB double checked and YUP Baby B was a girl :)

When I was 18 weeks, Baby B was "definitely a boy". Baby A didn't open up as much and the midwife said she thought girl, but the Dr. said he thought it was a boy, he was pretty sure of himself and kept saying, "yeh, that's a boy". A week later, at the high risk Peri ultrasound, Baby A was definitely a GIRL. I made them check 3 times. The Dr. kept saying "Yep, still a girl!" I gave my Reg OB a hard time about it :)

On all my u/s , our big boy was not shy at all. But our girl would never show us. I had an u/s every 4 wks. She was shy on every one. So we had a surprise, which was actually exciting. Good luck!!!

We know that one is a boy, he shows us all at every u/s but twin 2 is very shy! They think a girl, but still not sure!

Thanks for all the stories! I bet I won't be getting much sleep tonight, I haven't "seen" the little buggers since Sept. 6th!

I found out my baby girl was a girl at 13 weeks. I didn't find out about my babyboy until week 21!

Well, Twin A has been a boy from the start, twin B on the other hand had the umbilical cord between it's legs for the longest time and the techs were unsure. We now know Twin B is a girl.

They were able to tell for sure at 17 weeks that with out a doubt one is a boy and one is a girl-I think it also kind of depends on the sonographer and their experience.
Good luck, I hope it works out for you!

We found out they were both boys at 13 weeks at our peri u/s. Let me tell you, they were proud boys...no hiding for them. I made the mistake of making the comment to my peri that they were proud boys and his response....Aren't we all? HeHe. Good Luck, I hope they cooperate.
