Last night I must have gone in their room a dozen times to turn her over after seeing her on the monitor on her tummy. It was bad enough that she was on her tummy but, also she was putting her face in the corner on the bumper and the mattress, it was very scary. Today we went to BRU and got the breathable bumpers. She can roll over onto her belly but cannot roll back. I am very worried about tonight. What if I don't hear her or see her like this? The only solution I can think of is for one of us to stay up and watch her all night.
:hug99: Usually the rule of thumb is, when they can roll over by themselves, they have enough head control to sleep on their tummies safely...although I know it can be nervewracking for momma! I would use the breathable bumpers(we have them and love them!) and just make sure there are no blankets in there for her to bury her face in. She will be fine momma. :hug99:
Ellie does the same thing. I finally just took the bumper out of her crib. I figure she can put her face against the slat and she can still get air! No matter what I do she rolls over - no way to stop it!
When Ella started rolling over at 5 months, there was not way to ever get her to stay on her back again. I think that explains why she's so miserable in the car! Anyway, I agree that if she's able to roll, she's past the danger point. Changing the bumpers was probably a good idea, even if just for your own peace of mind. Have you talked to the pediatrician?
Ever since mine learned how to roll they have been sleeping on their stomachs. I find them every night that way (with their butts up in the air). I am sure she will be ok.

FWIW, my girls simply would NOT ever sleep on their backs. They were both colicky fussy babies and when they were on their backs they just cried bloody murder with their limbs flailing every which way. No "positioner" offered any comfort. And I was 100% sleep deprived and decided letting them sleep on their bellies was all I could do. I felt crazy about it, and spoke to my pediatrician who offered me some comfort, and told me that it was OKAY. It's OKAY. Please do not sit up all night, mommy needs sleep too.

for the first few nights after my dd started sleeping on her stomach, i kept going in & turning her back over. then after reading some posts on here about it, i just gave up & let her stay that way & she's just fine! i know it's hard cuz of all the stuff out there about making them sleep on their back, SIDS, etc., but it really is ok as long as you take out the regular bumpers (i never had any & still don't) & loose blankets.
Our Dr. said that our boys can sleep on their tummies once they are 6 months old and can rollover on their own. He said to still start them on their backs, but they will most likely end up on their tummies. He said it is important because it helps build their muscles for crawling etc. I know it is scary but as long as they have breathable bumpers and no blankets they should be fine.
