If you can offer any advice I'd really appreciate it. Just a little background my boys were born 11 weeks early and spent 7 weeks in the hospital. For their first two winters I kept them pretty secluded from the rest of the world and they received RSV immunizations. This year it wasn't necessary for the imm. so we opted not to continue.

This year they have been so sick I think because we started them in PDO/preschool and we've already had ear infections, breathing treatments and pneumonia. On Sunday the boys started coughing and I didn't think much of it. On Monday Grant was coughing so hard it was making him vomit and had a temperature up to 102.7 at its highest. We called the ped office. I called the office and they had us start cough medicine and tylenol. Tuesday was much of the same but Grant didn't start getting sick until the evening time and the same again last night except Grant wasn't keeping hardly anything down. But his vomiting was all due to coughing.

This morning I took them in to the ped first thing. Grant has a double ear infection, they both have RSV, and Evan has pneumonia on top of the RSV. I feel like I'm loosing my mind. And what's worse is their is nothing to treat RSV??? After our chest x-rays, which Evan did so good for, and on the way home I cried so hard. I feel so terrible that they are so sick and I'm so tired. Any ideas for what to do about the RSV. I have a script for the ear infection and the pneumonia so that will be taken care of...and we are doing breathing treatments for the RSV but does anyone have little tidbits for the RSV...I could use the help.

Sorry is this message was scattered...I've been interrupted a time or two and plus I'm a little tense.

I wish I had some advice for you, but I have not been through anything similar. I just wanted to wish you the best and tell you to hang in there! Your peds office sounds great, so that is a comfort. I don't know much about RSV, but I am sure you could find some good info online. Best to you and your boys!

I am so sorry you are dealing with so much!! I wish I had advice for you. I have always been worried about my kids getting RSV as well. I did the same thing you did..we were secluded for the first couple winters and I still tell people if they are ill not to come over. I will keep you in my thoughts!

I don't have any advice, just lots of hugs and sympathy. We have not had RSV so I'm not sure what the common treatments are. I hope that everyone starts feeling better so that you can get a much deserved break. [IMG]

My girls were born 13 weeks early- and for 15 months- they went without illness. This year- although quite secluded (we only go out twice a week and that is for therapy)- it seems like the girls have been sick every 10 days- no joke! From a hospitalization in December to the gastro bug to roseola to any other viral thing. I start to blame myself also - it is SO easy to do when you are EXHAUSTED! Try to remain strong even though you feel so beat down. Viruses can happen! I have to tell myself that because I feel so responsible. Keep us posted! I hope things get better for you! I do have to say- when my girls got to feeling better- the simple play days without a child with a fever, etc., were so easily enjoyed- didn't take them for granted anymore.

Here is some info on RSV and how to treat it at home. Here's another site. Looks like they say the same things and you've probably already found them... provide lots of fluids, use a cool mist vaporizer, get the gunk out of their noses, when to call the doc...

We haven't been through this so all I can do is offer you a big hug! [IMG] It seems to me that mothers of twins are very strong and do get through these really tough times. I wish there was more I could do to help you.

Do you have any relatives who could come over for a few hours so you could get some rest? You could go to their house for a nap while they come to yours to take care of the kids. [IMG]
