I knew I shouldn't have gotten my hopes up..... about 2 weeks ago, both babies decided to start sleeping from 11pm, after thier dreamfeed, until 7am. I was so thrilled to be getting 8 hours of sleep in a row! Well, that lasted for a week, and now we're all over the place. DD decided she would like to start getting up for the day at 5:30, which lasted a few days, and now she is back to waking between 3:30-4:30. She starts off just "talking" to herself, and then it turns into fullblown crying after about 10 or 15 minutes. The only way to get her back down is to feed her, even though I don't really think hunger is the reason she woke up in the first place (or she'd be crying from the start). DS has also started waking up around 5 or so, screaming, but still half asleep. I can usually get him back to sleep with a pacifier +/- some brief rocking (although I really would like to avoid picking him up). After all this, I still can barely get them to sleep past 6:15, which throws everything off as DH and I both have to get ready for work in the morning.

Is this just a passing phase or was the week of 11-7 sleep just a fluke? DD is soooo on the verge of rolling and I think I've heard that sleep can be disrupted when babies are about to reach new developmental milestones. Anyone else experience this? just wondering what I can expect..... Thanks!

I was just going to post this!!
My girls have been terrible sleepers for about a week now! The night before last being the worst! Sofia was up EVERY hour starting at 11:30. They were sleeping 7-7 getting up usually only once at 2ish, and about half the time Maia would get up again between 4-5.
Now they're getting up like 5-6x a night!! Its like dealing with newborns again! Or worse!

I hope someone has an answer or a solution for this madness. But I feel a little better knowing I'm not the only one, its means its not me!!

this is just a phase. it is always just a phase really. :D whenever ds is trying to do something new he does this to me. I just check to make sure he is still ok, as much as I can (w/o him knowing is better) and then leave them be. they could be having little growth spurt tho. my mom is a nurse and her office says if babies can do it for a week they can do it forever, so if they were sleeping thru 11-7 they will again it may take another few weeks to get back on track, just stick to your guns and your routine and they will follow.... eventually ;)

one of the wisest things anyone ever told me before my son was that just when you think you've got the baby's routine figured out, it changes. it's sort of a phase, sometimes it's a fluke and they go back to something a bit predictable but often they move on to a new routine. it'll keep changing but overall, it WILL get better.

    hang in there. :hug99:

Could be a growth spurt....I think around 3-4 months they do have one...
