UGH, is the umbilical cord STILL attached?

I'm wondering if they forgot to cut Olivia's umbilical cord or something? I mean, DH never got to do it b/c they took her to the NICU, so maybe it actually IS still attached to me (invisibly of course).

I can't take it anymore! I really forgot about how muchI'm not a fan of this age until like 15 months. Olivia is so needy, whiney and it's gotten worse since she started crawling. If she's touching me, sitting with me she is fine! She's laughing, giggling, having a good time. But, if I'm not physically touching her (and I'm NOT exaggerating) she is a screaming, blubbering, snotty mess. She will just crawl around trying to find me. I know that if I walk out of the room, she will be screaming by the time my foot hits the 2nd step of the stairs.

I just cannot listen to it anymore. I literally sat and cried for like 15 mintues after I got her down for a nap today. Her seperation anxiety or whatever you want to call it is about to turn me even more gray REALLY fast. Ugh, I hope this ends soon. I can't handle listening to her scream when I'm not near her when I also have 4 other kids to watch after 10 hours a day.

    AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH...thanks for letting me vent!

 I hope the day gets better. Maybe getting out with friends (without LOs) soon will help .

I hope your day does get better. Separation anxiety is tough, my son is going through it now with DH.

I've btdt... have you considered slinging her? There are a ton of options. I had to sling my first son, I promise when she goes to H.S. she won't even want to talk to you  .

Oh man.. something to look forward to eh? I hope you get past this soon. Have you played peek a boo with her at all? That might get her used to you being out of sight. Just be a little more out of sight after a while. Good luck!

LOL...sorry! Great advice, but she's close to 30 lbs and NO WAY can I carry her around all day. Plus, I sold my Moby wrap weeks ago!

Ugh, it's horrible! Of course, after DH got home tonight she was all SMILES and went to bed at 6:40! Go figure! Yep, I do peek-a-boo...but if my hands are over my eyes too long, she'll probably scream thinking I'm not there anymore!

Do it around a corner. Something that teaches her that if you 'disappear,' you will always be back. Good luck!

Oh, I could have written your post word for word. I couldn't sleep last night worrying that my son will always be really needy and not be able to be independent from me. After the first 2 months, this is the hardest stage for me so far. I hear everyone talk about how it is getting so much easier, but it was so much easier months ago when I could get up and walk three feet without hearing the screaming. It's whining all day around here. Not to mention the two really short naps that always end with a screaming fit. My daughter is so easy and plays so well independently. Hardly ever fusses or cries. It's so hard not to compare and wonder what is going on with my son. I really hope I get my happy boy back soon!
