So for about the last two weeks I have been trying to get the boys to take naps in their cribs, but it just hasn't been going well. They sleep so good at night (from 8pm-7am, no bottles), but won't nap in their cribs! They get maybe 20 minutes max and by 5pm they are miserable. If I put them in the swing, within 5 minutes they are asleep. So this weekend I just caved and let them sleep wherever...the swing, bouncies, or on the couch with DH or me. Also the napping in cribs has really screwed up their schedule. We were doing eat, play, nap...now it's eat, play, nap, and the wake up with about 45 min. til the next bottle. They are so used to feeding as soon as they get up that now I have to hold them off for 45 min. and they are cranky. I just feel so defeated with getting them to nap in their cribs!! :headbang:

Sometimes you just have to do whatever works so you can restore some sanity to your household! If the swing works, that's great... try the cribs again in a little while and they just might take to it. I couldn't get my babes to take to crib naps until about 2 weeks ago....they would sleep anywhere but their cribs. Frustrating when you're trying to coordinate naps between two babies!

You know what, I wouldn't worry too much about it if I were you. I would just let them nap wherever & try again with cribs later, maybe they will be better at napping in their crib a month from now, or two months. At least they are sleeping in their crib at night. I always told myself that what I did with them for naps wasn't quite as important as nights, because they are eventually going to stop napping anyway. If you can have successful nighttime sleeping, then you're doing good!

This happens with one of my boys. What I do is let him fall asleep first and then I transform him to his crib.

When I was working on nap schedules I started with the swings. I put them in it at naptime and worked to get them sleeping til about 15 min before the next feeding. That worked out to about 90 min of nap. Once that was going well and they were sleeping good at night, I transitioned to sleeping in the cribs for that 90 min. It took a little cio (very modified, I was right there in the room soothing as needed) but then they started napping just fine in the cribs. What's most important is good daytime sleep first. Wherever that happens is just fine!

Whatever works I say. Don't be hard on yourself!

We had a hard time with napping in the crib too. Do whatever you can to stay sane right now and try again in a week or two. Have you tried putting the swings in their room? I even went as far as putting a bouncy chair in the crib to get them used to the setting.

Ok, my boys are only 2 months old, I have the same issue. I would not call it a problem, because I'm okay with them taking naps in their swings or bouncy seats, however I do not have a problem putting them down in their cribs at night.
They know and go to sleep for me after their nighttime bottles.
I think you should take it easy and maybe try in a few weeks again. Eventually they will adjust to their cribs during the daytime, too.
