Okay, I'm having one of those weeks and it's really starting to get to affect my "calm exterior". Both girls are at a stage where they're only entertained by any one thing for maybe 10 minutes tops. Genevieve is going through something that has her cranky and not sleeping well at all. There is absolutely no schedule at this point and i think they've slept at the same time for a total of 20 minutes all week. I work at home most of the time and since I'm entertaining them while they're awake right now, I only get work done when they're asleep so I've had to pull 2 all-nighters to keep my head above water at work. Yesterday was AWFUL because I only slept about 2 hours and Genevieve was up at 3:30 AM and wouldn't sleep for more than 10 minutes at a time after that. She's the same today, but at least I had a few hours of sleep to "gear up". To add to that, I've been dieting (which makes me cranky), i'm pre-menstrual and we're leaving for a WEEK LONG trip to visit family (I'm not calling this a vacation) on Wednesday night. I have to go into the office tonight, Sat, Sun, Mon & Tues...so when am I supposed to get ready for this trip? I have things for work that HAVE to be done before we go away for a week. The house is a wreck and i can't leave it like that and we need to do laundry, make a packing list and pack, pack, pack. I think I'm gonna lose it! Hopefully something will give before I crack. I caught myself getting frustrated with my non-sleeping, cranky babies this morning and had to leave the room. Problem is that Genevieve thinks she can climb out of every thing I can put her in, so I can't leave the room for more than a second. She can't even sit up yet, but she arches her back over and over and gets herself all twisted or ends up half in the floor and angry! I think poor, smiley McKenna is starting to feel neglected. :(

DH doesn't get it. He just says "relax" and the leaves the house. Grrr... When he's home, he's "off" of work and can relax. But he gets home to relieve me so i can go to work. When am I supposed to relax??

I just needed to vent. Thanks for reading!

LittleTwinMom, I wanted to take your advice, so I put the girls on the floor to play (or fuss) while I put in a movie. Not surprisingly, given the day we've had, I couldn't get the DVD player to work! So, they were on the floor for a little while and actually gave up on the fussing to play for a minute. I had to snap some camera-phone pics. I decided to put the DVD in my laptop while I got some bottles ready. When I came back up, they were so engrossed and cute, I had to snap some more pics. Here they are!

Now they are full and "sleeping". Meaning, McKenna's asleep, & Genevieve is in and out of sleep (I wonder what is going on with her, she usually my mellow baby :()

Laura those pictures are PRICELESS!! :D Glad it worked out for you, hey whatever works...ya know! Is Genevieve maybe teething? I'd try giving her some Tylenol and see if it helps. :)

At 5 months she may very well be teething. You know what I do when I have undefined crankiness in my house? I just give them a dose of Tylenol. Usually it makes them feel better. I sometimes think that they are having growing pains, headaches or teeth pain and they just can't tell us.

I love those pics btw.... I would seriously frame the one you got of their faces just above the Dell, so cute!!!

 SOOOO cute!! I have those days where I just can't take ONE MORE MINUTE of whining and fussing and I start to sing the Play With Me Sesame intro song and they know that they are going to get some boob tube time. Sometimes you just have to do it. I do the same as Jenny, the sudden onset of unexplained fussiness get a dose of Tylenol in our house too (after checking for all the obvious of course!). :hug99: You can do this!!

Laura, :hug99:, so incredibly cute. I love that you used the DVD in your laptop to get them contained! LOL Very smart! I hope that you at least had a better day today and that tonight you get some sleep. I swear, it's gonna get better. :hug99:
