Connor has officially given up naps. It's been almost three weeks since he stopped napping. The first week he would crash at 5:00 for 30 minutes or so. The second week he crashed a couple of times at 2:00 and actually took a nap. This week he as not crashed at all, or even slowed down for that matter. I think I have to just accept the fact that he no longer needs a nap. I still think he's too young, but there's no telling his body that I guess.

The good news is he goes to bed easily at night (usually) and he is out within one minute. So DH and I have our evenings back! (While he was napping he was going down at 9 and sometimes it would take us 30-60 min to get him to go to sleep...)

Heather still takes a 2-3 hour nap. She's a good little sleeper. :D

I'm right there with you, only it's both of mine. Somedays they crash around 4 or 4:30 if I put a movie on a I let them snooze for about 30-45 min. Otherwise they go all day. They are still tired and seem to need a nap, but they do go down sooo much easier!! It was getting to be bedtime around 10 pm (still going down at 8 or 8:30, but not falling asleep till then). That was driving us nuts!! I know it's frustrating . . . not much to do about it I guess. Just wanted to share that I am in the same boat as you!

Well now you can get a little one on one time with Connor. I can't believe you can get Heather down. She must really love her naps. I can't imagine one of my boys going down without the other.

    Good luck!

Yes, Heather is so into sleeping! One day I was busy and didn't get her down at her usualy time. She actually put herself to bed for her nap! She went upstairs, closed her door, and got into bed! It was cute. I'm greatful for that and for the one-on-one time with Connor. :D

I am dreading this day. As it is Sofia usually stays awake through her nap at least a couple times a week. I keep putting her down anyways and at least she is quiet and I get a bit of a break.

Mine are still both taking their 2 o'clock nap... but I can see this soon ending, because it isn't as long as it use to be and they don't sleep as sound as they use to.

I've been having nap/bedtime struggles with my kids for a few weeks now. I thought mine were too young to give up naps, but seeing your post made me think that maybe it's time to give it up. I'm really going to miss that break in the middle of the day :(

My older son went through a stage like this at about 2 1/2. I tried giving up on his nap but he turned into a little monster at about 5pm. I knew he still needed a nap so I did whatever I could to enforce it. He began napping again without all the struggle because he knew it was a rule. I really think kids need a nap until about age 4.
