I am just wondering how often everyone here is getting or has gotten u/s's. I am expecting identicals I believe. Same sac.. not sure of membrane or if they share a placenta as the u/s I had was very low grade..I plan to ask my mw at my next appointment .. but was kind of wondering what to expect.

I get them at every appointment (since 5 w)… so now I get them every 2 weeks because all 3 of my Drs don’t want me going more than 2 weeks without someone seeing me… … I am having identical that have their own sacs but share a placenta… BUT I know some women on this site don’t get that many u/s… HTH

I saw a peri as well as my regular OB, only because I was having twins, I was not high risk for any other reason. My peri did a growth u/s at every visit (every 4 weeks) and my regular OB did a quick u/s at every visit as well to see the h/bs. I loved having so many u/s!

I am having fraternal twins, which I believe generally means less u/s. I have a detailed u/s with my peri every four weeks from 12 weeks on, then every 2 weeks from 26 weeks, and now- since this (36th) week- every week. I also have a quick u/s with my OBGYN every time I see him (same schedule as above but alternate weeks), but that is only on a small office machine and is mostly to check h/b, as my OBGYN prefers u/s to doppler to check heartbeat on twins.

i have had a u/s every 2 weeks since 8wks....we are having identical twin boys! i was seen at my ob's office every 2 weeks until week 16! At 18w, i went to a peri's office for an anatomy u/s...then back to ob's at 20w..then back to peri's office at 22w! i have no other health problems, just that they are in the same plancenta so they are watching them closely! Hope this helps!

I was pretty much like that as well but from 32 weeks on I was at the Peri 2x a week and had an u/s each time!

I have u/s every 4 weeks. Insurance company will not pay for them more often than that. They do a quick one to check the h/b once in a while, but usually, my OB sees me the same week as my Peri, so he just listens to be sure he hears two h/bs. As long as everything looks good to the Peri, my OB figures his job is an easy one...for now. LOL!

I go to the OB every 2 weeks until 30 weeks and then I will go every week. I get an ultrasound every 4 weeks.

I am expecting identical boys but didn't find out until I had an u/s for genetic screeing at 14 weeks. I am 39, so am considered advanced maternal age. Since then I have had u/s about every 3 weeks. It may go to every week or two though soon from what I understand. Good luck with the rest of your pregnancy!!!

I don't get so many. Had one at 7 wks to measure my cervix early on- that's when we found out it was twins.

next wasn't until 23wks, and from there it's every 5-6wks, so only 1 or 2 more before kiddos arrive probably.

kind of bums me out there isn't more.

(I'm using a midwife practice that is working w/ an OB for my case)
