well we had an u/s today! it was awesome :) both are measuring 8wks5days. heartbeats were 173 and 180, but i dont know which was which. and 1 was measuring 2.17cm and other was 2.23cm (im assuming thats what i saw on the screen when she measured them??)...i guess the difference is okay since they were both measuring same weeks/days. to hear their lil heartbeats was AMAZING. did anyone rent a doppler for any of their pregnancys? and with twins can you really tell the difference between the 2? and since everything looked so good, is there still a chance of losing 1? well here are my pics...

Congrats! I think the measurements as early as you are- are in mm- they are still very tiny. At the beginning of my pregnancy I was told that I may lose one- we just seen sacs- I was 5 weeks 5 days- when we did see both heart beats I was told the chance of losing one of them was very less likely. I did not rent a doppler- thought about it, but never did. I would think you should be able to distinguish between the two- they can at the doctors office- although my girls have been the same many times! Just remember- it may add to your stress if you can't find them both...

Congrats on seeing the heartbeats! Now that you have seen them, there is a 98% chance things will go just great. I rented a doppler for both pregnancies. I was not able to find the heartbeats until around 10-12 weeks reliably. I mean, I did find it sometimes around 9 weeks, but it took a long time. I could not tell the difference between babies at all at any point in my pregnancy. However, hearing them made me feel so much better because I have had numerous miscarriages. My OB doesn't even use the doppler with multiples because they often cannot tell if they are hearing one or both babies. They gave me an u/s at every visit to check everything. Every OB is different though. I imagine midwives and some OB's find dopplers easy to use and quite reliable. Good luck with everything!
