I went for my anatomy u/s today and then had my dr. apt after. The u/s was awesome, they have grown so much since my first one. They were so cute, they were laying transverse next to each other. We have one photo of all four feet. Every once in a while baby A would hit poor B in the head. They would shift and one would be on top of the other or just laying on their backs chilling. It was so good to see them again and to see that all of their little body parts are where they are supposed to be in the number they are supposed to be. My inlaws came, it was their first u/s experience so they were thrilled. We held strong and did not find out the genders. They are definitely fraternal, have their own placentas and two amnions. Baby A was measuring 18.5 wks and Baby B was measuring right on at 19.3 wks. There heartbeats were 146 and 151 respectively. Everything looked good as far as the tech could see, they send the pictures to another hospital for reading and then we get the results, my dr will look at them this weekend also and call us if there are concerns. We have some great pictures to add to our baby book.

My dr. apt went well. I asked him about my migraines and subsequent issues. He did not have any concerns that I had toxemia or anything like that, he said that the increase in blood volume in pregnancy can increase the incidence of headaches and migraine activity. He said up to 26 weeks I could take the Excedrin Migraine though he preferred I take Advil(up to 26 weeks) or Tylenol with codeine(which is safe at any stage). If the headaches and aura persist or get worse I will have to go back to the neurologist, although he may give me propanolol which the OB would like to avoid in a twin pregnancy. I am going to try and tough it out, as long as I know it is nothing more than migraine auras I can get used to it for a while. I weighed about the same as last time, I might have actually lost a couple of pounds, I wasn't really paying attention. My uterus has gotten higher since last week, judging by where the dr. had the tape measure. I go back in 4 weeks and then we will start having every two week apt for a while. I think my next ultrasound will be either 26 or 28 weeks.

It isn't easy, we looked for baby clothes the other day, preemie outfits for coming home, and it was so hard to look at the boy and girl clothes without knowing, but the surprise will be worth it, there will be years of gender specific shopping to go. Thank you.

Glad it went well. Oh it would be so hard not finding out the genders. Don't think I could do it. There is a chance they could be identical, they can still be in there own sacs and have their own placentas and be identical :) Hope the headaches get better for you.

Glad it all went well…. Hope you get relief with the headaches… mine have slowed down in the last week (lets hope its permanent)…
When I was in recovery there was a girl who didn’t find out her gender and I got to hear (as they had the door open) the nurse tell the family it was a girl… it seemed to relieve all the new grandparent (who were worried about her c section) and they sounded so happy and started focusing on girl stuff instead of worrying about her (as she was fine…. She even had her toes wiggling 15-20 min [again, door open] after her spinal… mine weren’t working for 2 hours…)

Thanks, I hope this isn't going to be a rest of the pregnancy thing. They haven't seemed quite as bad the last day or so. I just have to be careful to avoid a lot of noise and strange lighting. Stress also makes some of the other symptoms worse. That is neat that they waited to find out, not too many people wait anymore. It seems like the last real surprise left.

It wasn't easy, I almost asked but didn't. It was a wonderful u/s, I really enjoyed all of their little movements and seeing that they were ok.
