Went in for 26 Week u/s and growth scan today.

Baby A is 2 lbs 2 oz and positioned upright. Doing excellent.

Baby B ( what was feared to be our IGUR twin ) is 1 lb 8 oz and breech. His cord bloodflow restriction has improved ALOT in the last two weeks, and although he is about two weeks behind baby A, everything looks really good and i am so relieved.

Fluid around both is good and measures equal, as do thier bladders, so almost out of the TTTS timeframe completely. Cervix is still measuring at 4cm. Also, i found out from the multiples specialist at UCSD that we have what are known as " side by side " twins, as opposed to " bunk bed " twins. Which explain why they don't move around eachother, and are always felt and seen on the same sides. A is always on the right, and B on the left for me, unlike bunkbed twins, which can change sides.

So, all in all a WONDERFUL u/s today, we are so pleased and relieved that things are getting better for our baby B. I guess the bedrest and tons of water really has made a difference.

That's great news! It is so hard waiting for each u/s and then such a relief when it is good news. It's amazing how the cord flow can improve like that.

I hope to be where you are in 5 weeks!! We also have an IUGR twin and have no signs of TTTS at the moment. Are you going in weekly for dopplers or just every few weeks for growth scans? I imagine you'd be monitored fairly closely right now to determine when they should deliver.

Beckylynn- i was going in every week for doppler and growth scans up until now. Since the last u/s at 26 weeks showed that the IGUR seems to be improving on it's own, i have my next appointment in 2 weeks, and we will go from there. i honestly didnt think that the bedrest and excess water intake would make the difference, but apparently it really has. Good luck with your babies hon.
