i had posted that DS has been getting up screaming in the night and whining all day .(topic: crawling) You suggested she may be teething- i looked in today and the pearly white has begun rearing its head!!!! Its barly visible u can see the edge of is lvl with the gums about to come up. S o what do u suggest for pain relief? I have teething tablets, oragel and tylenol and motrin. Should i give them all in combination throught the day/night? DS was such a good teetehr(he has 2) he whined for a day then surprise there wewre 2 teeth. Thanks so much ladies!

I put wet wash cloths in the freezer for day-time gum soothing. I also offer the pacis as much as needed (seems to help - they sometimes naw on them rather than sucking). I sometimes give Tempra before bed if we've had a particularly fussy day. The pain is much better after the teeth break through, so sounds like you're almost in the clear (until the next tooth, I mean!).

Tylenol during the day if they need it and Motrin at night (they sleep better with the motrin)...also Orajel swabs...my son teeths HORRIBLY - he chews and cries and whines and drools....its pathetic to see...

I would definitely go with the Motrin at night. It works better and lasts longer. Yay for teeth!

I use orajel occasionally, although I'd be careful about dosage since you're basically numbing them out...For other relief I started w/frozen washcloths and recently discovered the Munchkin Mesh Feeders, here is a link http://www.babyant.com/bh037086.html

I put frozen banana or mango in them, soften it a little and give it to the girls to chew/suck - they really love it and chomp away and it seems to help w/the teething pain. Haven't had to try anything at night, though. Have used teething tablets as well, but not lately.
