The boys and I have been on again off again sick for that seems like forever. We thought we made it through with out Ty getting sick but yesterday he was congested and coughing here and there nothing to bad though. When he was sleeping or eatting you would never know he was congested. He woke up today around 6am and Dh fed him while I pumped. Usually he beats me but when I returned to the bedroom Dh said he still had 2oz to go and he didnt think he could eat b/c he could not breath at the same time. I changed his diaper and tried again to give him his bottle but he didnt want it. I sat there holding him for a few min and then he started coughing. Sounding almost like he could not breath at all. I told Dh to get dressed he was taking him to the hospital. I walked back and forth waiting what seemed like hours for Dh to walk out of the bedroom.

I was ready to call 911 out of panic. I have never had a sick baby before and I know they dont know how to breath out of their mounths when their noses are plugged but this scared me to death. Now my newborn and Dh are on thy way to the hospital, my boys are sleeping and here I sit worried out of my mind b/c I dont know whats going on. I cant even call anyone to keep me grounded b/c I dont have a voice.

Can anyone tell me what its like to have a sick newborn. With a stuffy nose how do they breath? I am just so scared for him..... I cant stop crying and I just wish I was with him. I wish he never got sick....

I had to send Clayton to the doctor with my husband recently. I hated not being the one taking him in. Glad your husband was able to do it. I hope Ty feels better soon!

Awe poor baby, I hope he's doing better.

What have they told you to do for his congestion? Have you tried putting him in the bathroom in his chair or carseat and turning on the hot water? That's one idea, but first you need to figure out what he has.

Dh is still at the hospital and his phone is not working very well. After about 20 plus calls I heard that he was taken for an Xray, tested for RSV and has a small fever 99.5..... Hes called a few more times but when I pick up his phone has alredy dropped.

I am so sorry he is sick. Mine get stuffy noses quite often, my older ds brings all sorts of things home from school. It is awful the first time, we just suction their noses and put saline in. It never seems to end. They are still stuffy, could be allergies. I hope he gets better soon, I don't know anything about RSV so I can't help you there, but I will pray for a speedy recovery. He is in a great place now for his care.

Hi everyone.. I thought I updated? Maybe it didnt go through. They sent him home no meds or anything. SAid to suction his nose and mouth before he eats and to keep him upright at all time. Sleep in shifts they told us b/c he needs to be watched at all times ( way to scare a parent right)

When Dh and Ty got home we packed up the kids and went to my moms where we are currently. I feel better having more adults around to help with Ty and watch the boys. So far he seems fine. He ate and hes been sleeping ever since.. But when hes sleeping his breathing is quite and sounds great.

He has a appt with the ped tom a 1125 I will be sure to update after that.

Please kep him in your thoughts and prayers this is VERY scary for me.

    thanks so much

Ethen an Deven both had it at 2 weeks old. Deven was a code blue and was on a ventilator for 2 weeks. He was taken off and put back on. I posted our story here last Febrauary/March. I hope all turns out well for your babies. Feel free to PM if you want to. I do understand what its like. You guys did nothing wrong. The babies could have been exposed to it by a nurse/doc/cna or even housekeeper in the hospital, a friend or realitive in visiting or even their siblings. Keeping you all in our prayers.

If you are bf or pumping you can use a dropper and put breastmilk down his nose--- it has all those great antibacterial effects.

Sorry you had to deal with such a scare, I couldn't image how scared you were.

    Hi everyone...

We are VERY tired today.... We all stayed up with Ty until 3 am I slept from 330 to 630 and Dh slept from 630 to 1030. Ty did great through the night. Most of his problems come after he has his bottle (breastmilk) he coughs a bit but after that hes ok. A bit stuff here and there though and Im sure it sounds WAY worse then it is??

We went to the peds today and Tyler weighed 7lbs 11oz up from 6lbs 12oz at birth. We were told again the RSV test came back positive but the xrays looked good. WE were given a breathing machine for Tyler to take home and some meds for it. After his treatment at the office he sounded really good and his o2 levels were good and even better after the treatment. They said he looked really good:)

We have a follow up appt. on Thursday evening to see hows hes doing. They keep telling me its going to get worse before it gets better... Im hoping it does not get any worse, its so hard to see such a tiny baby be so sick and theres nothing we can do about it:(

I will try to keep you all update as time goes on but were staying at my parents house and its hard to get computer time there:) Our next appt is Thursday at 5pm.. Ill update after that.

    Please cont prayers.

    Thanks so much!!
