    Hey ladies

We had our two month check today. Allison weighted 10# exactly while Ellie weighed 10#11oz - both up three pounds in a little over a month!

We had Ellie's umbilical hernia looked at. He said that he could feel the defect with his fingers and he could feel bowels poking out of the muscle. We have to see a surgen next week;(. He said to really watch it and if it gets hard to take her to the ER immediatly. He said most hernias are fat poking through but hers is defintly bowel which is what makes it dangerous! Anyone else have this?

Plus, Allison's eye ducts aren't properly formed. We are just watching that for now!

Poor Ellie, I had my umbilical hernia repaired a few months ago. It wasn't too bad but way more scary when it is your little baby. I hope everything goes okay!

Sorry to hear about Ellie's hernia. My DD had one that was not bowel and it resolved at 4 months. It took Annalise 4-5 months for her tear ducts to heal - it will happen. Good luck next week.

Sorry to hear about her surgery. Nevan has, rather had an umbilical hernia and it corrected itself between visits.

Good weights babies! Way to grow!! Sorry to hear about Ellie's possible surgery. Emily had a hernia that thankfully corrected itself at about 4 months. We are still waiting on her tear duct to "mature" as the pedi says. It stays goopy all the time! Good luck and keep us posted!

Both my babies had umbilical hernias that healed on their own by about 4 months. Sorry about the surgery!

My daughter had what we initially thought was one hernia. She had the surgery at roughly 3 months (it's been a while). She breezed through and we went home the same day. While in there, the doctor checked and found that she had a hernia on both sides and fixed both (standard practice for them). It was quite scary but we made it through with no problems and no side effects at all.

[IMG] I hope everything will go well for your daughter. What a scary thing to have happen at that young. I wish you and your family the best. It sounds like they are growing well. Good luck!

So sorry to hear about the surgery--I'll be thinking good thoughts for you and the baby!
Declan has an umbilical hernia too, and it's a pretty large (protruding one). So far, the ped says it should resolve itself normally (could be until the time he's 3-4 yrs old?), and they'll keep an eye on it. I think it's started to get smaller lately, but maybe that's just wishful thinking...

[IMG] Oh my goodness! I bet you are worried about Elouise! I hope her sugery goes well and she heals quickly. All 4 of my babies had at least one "bad" tear duct, they matured quickly for us, I hope Allisons does too!

Good luck with your baby's surgery, I hope everything goes well. The one advantage of having an operation at this age is that she'll never remember it and will heal SO quickly. My DS has funky tear ducts too. His eyes are always goopy, I just massage them and try to keep them as clean as I can. It's all we can do, right?
