At first we are planning on getting only one crib, but my Mom has suggested we get two. I think this is a dumb question, but when do they go into seperate cribs?

We put ours in separate cribs at 4 mos. They slept MUCH better after that. We only set one up initially so that the room would not be super crowded, and then we set the other one up shortly before separating them.

We moved ours to separate cribs at 4 months, and they started sleeping through the night around 4.5 months...so it was a good move!

Our girls weren't big rollers in their cribs and we swaddled them for a long time. They didn't go into two cribs until about 7 months.

I think we seperated our at 4 months old. At that point they were moving and waking each other up. We used a pack n play for a long time instead of another crib, but that was because of the house situation. Eventually you will want two cribs.

My girls are 10 months and still share a crib. We have a second one, but it is in the basement because we weren't using it. We didn't get it until the girls were 4-5 months old.

You will want a second crib eventually. When you separate them will mostly depend on how they do together. Some babies can sleep together better than others.

I don't think it's a dumb question at all. I think we are planning to put ours in separate cribs from the beginning. Are there problems with that?

4 months for us too! But all babies are different. But at 4 months, ours starting rolling onto each other so it was time!

We put ours in their own crib at 4 months too. You will need 2 cribs at some point.

Thanks everyone. I like the idea of the wombmates being cribmates for a little.

I had them in seperate cribs until they were about 4 months old. I probably would have done it sooner, but at the time we were living with my il's and had no room for another crib. The reason for the 2 cribs was because they were always moving around so much they would wake the other up and they were quite big. They are in the 98 percentile for height @ 1.5 years old, so they were pretty tall then.

    Good luck!

We seperated ours way early, probably about a month after we came home. I just felt like they did better apart, they were waking each other up, and my DS was a vomiter ... so it was less messy if he wasn't near his sister.

It's really your personal preference if you want to use one crib for awhile and the two or use two right off the bat. We got two, but my twins slept in the same one together for about 3.5 months...after that they started moving around too much and Morgan was still on the apnea monitor and I was afraid of the cords getting tangled or something when them both in there.

I also separated them at 4 months. They were beginning to move around more while sleeping and would wake each other up.

Mine went into seperate cribs VERY quickly - like before 3 months.
One didn't sleep well w/ the other and one was nursed longer so slept in my room a little longer.

My twins never slept in the same crib. For the first two months they were in seperate bassinettes. Then they were in their own cribs from 2 months on.

No questions is dumb or stupid or whatever word you used that I can't find right now. (IMO)

Ours slept in the same for about a month, and then seperate after that.

We are getting 2 cribs right away. I don't want to mess with getting another one later. We are going to have both set up and in the nursery. That way if sleeping together doesn't work out we are already set.

We already have two cribs set up. We are going to put them in one initially. We went ahead and got two cribs since they were on clearance at toys R us. We have the convertible kind that goes up to a full bed eventually. I also figured that if they don't do well together for one reasone or another, that we're set to seperate!

Always had different bassinets and cribs. I didn't even consider to put them together. My hospital advised against it as well. They were even in seperate rooms between 2-7 months but now they're back together. They were just so different in the beginning (they still are but more on a similar schedule).

It depends on your babies. Some last in the same crib for months while others (like mine) figure out how to kick each other in the head before they're even 2 months old and you have no choice but to separate them.

we have 3 cribs :) we were given one by a friend when she found out we were preggos and then when we found out it was twins we got a matching set from another twin mommy. so we have two in there room and one in our room. so they slept together in our room in there crib for about 4 months than DD went to her own crib DS was not as easy to get in to his own room. he was our child that thru the night was moved from crib to car seat to swing. but he finally got there around 6 months. I would say get 2 at lease :D

We had one bed at first cause my guys came too early!!! We split them up around 4-5 months. They did very well with the change. You will get to a point where they will be moving around so much it could cause the other one to stay awake too.

We have two set up, but plan to keep them together as long as possible. Like another poster said, we didn't want to mess with getting another one later, and Babies R Us gives you a discount if you buy two of the same item att he same time. ;)
