    Hi
I am 17 weeks pregnant with twins. This is my first pregnancy and I go through the rollercoaster ride of emotions constantly. My husband and I are so excited but overwhelmed at the same time. We are currently trying to navigate through the stroller and car seat situation. It is like buying a car!!!! Does anyone have any recommendations about what kind of car seats and strollars to buy for 2???

First, Welcome to TS and Congrats on your Twin Pregnancy!! :yahoo:

For carseats we went with the Graco Snugride's, and they were great. We have no complaints at all.

For strollers, if I had to do it again I would have done it differently than I did. I would have bought the Double Snap and Go for the early days, rather than the Duo Glider. The Duo Glider is Huge, Heavy and cumbersome. I didn't use it long at all. We quickly went to the Combi SBS stroller once they were out of their infant carriers. I love my combi! It's light, easy to maneuver and compact and I love that it fits through doors (many don't, so you may want to check that out when deciding).

It definitely can seem overwhelming because there are so many options when making these decisions. Best of Luck to you!!

    :welcome: to Twinstuff!

I also had the Graco snugride carseats. :good: I did have the Graco duoglider and loved it. I still used it until they were over 3 years old. :good: I needed something that would be able to fit through the doorways of my oldest DD's school, since we have to walk her to/from school, a SBS stroller would not have. It didn't really phase me on the weight of the duoglider, it was very easy for me to fold/unfold and put in the back of my van, it never bothered me to do that.

It really depends what you want. I did not want to have to buy a lot of strollers, so getting the infant seats and the duoglider worked well for us.

I also bought snugrides. I bought one with dd because it had the highest safety rating, and bought two new ones for the twins because the first one worked great for us. I bought two strollers for the twins, a double jogger because that's what we'll use the stroller for the most, and a duoglider to get through doors (I wanted a double stroller dd can also fit in, while I wear a twin) I've heard good things about the snap and go, but I wanted something that could last us a little longer ie after they've outgrown their infant seats.

I love my snugrides! They are a lot lighter than my nieces safeseat and have great reviews. I also have the double snap and go. I have loved it until recently. I am still glad I purchased it, but now we are going to get a side by side stroller because the girls love to face out while we walk. I learned this while using two singleton strollers. We of course couldn't have used this when they were littler! I still plan to use the snap and go for errands by myself, but no longer for walks. I would buy the snap and go used because they normally don't get used for very long so they are in good shape normally :)

If your area has a twins club that can be a great resource for used equipment and hand-me-downs for items you don't use for very long -- I was given a double snap-n-go for free by another twin mom. Craig's list is also a great place to look. If you search this site for stroller recommendations you should find a lot of threads...

We used the Graco Safeseat for our carseats. We wanted something that had a higher weight and height limit in the hopes that we would be able to use it longer. They worked really well for us although they are heavier than the snugrides.

As for a stroller, I never even got my snap and go out of the box. We used our Graco Quattro Duo with the car seats for most of the first year. We can still use it for the boys now and even though it isn't always our first choice to use on a daily basis, there are many times where it fits the situation, shopping especially since there are so many places it is hard to navigate with a larger stroller.

The stroller we use almost daily (and have since the boys were about 4 months old is the Expedition Double from One Step Ahead. This is one of the most useful items we own and it is super easy to use and navigate.

The biggest thing to do is think about your lifestyle and how you can envision using a storller. Be realistic with yourself. Quite honestly we had the double snap and go that we never used, a single snap and go that we used a handful of times when the boys were tiny, the jogger, the quattro duo, a jeep double and a single umbrealla stroller. They all serve a purpose and we've used all of them but one more than once. We've also gotten use out of our Bjorn and our hiking backpacks. Be sure you have something for at the begining, most of the strollers we own were bought in situations where we knew we would need it and had to go out and get it because we never thought we would use it, especially the singles.
