Twins sleeping on a pillow in their crib

My twins have reflux and I have propped them up in their crib using a pillow. They both have their own pillows, in the same crib. Their 2 months old, so about half of their body is on the pillow and from the waist down there in their sleep positioner. Is this dangerous? Has anyone else done this? It helps a lot to have them elevated when they sleep.

I think it's safer to put the pillows under the mattress and prop it up that way. They are likely to roll down the pillow and could end up on their tummies and w/o the strength to do anything about it. I do think it's dangerous. You can lift the end of the crib too. if you can't find the right thing for UNDER the MATTRESS. (how my pedi recommended it....)

Good luck! Reflux is a bummer!

I agree with the pp. This is awfully dangerous and too risky. We had reflux issues for awhile and we put blankets under the mattress to prop them up a bit. I wouldn't put anything in their crib except a fitted sheet and a pacifier at that age.

I also put pillows under the mattress to prop it up for reflux. But my babies were sleeping in a pak n play, so the mattress was light and it wasn't hard to prop up. Once they moved to a crib when they were 5 months old, I stopped propping.

    Ditto.

We had to prop Jackie up, because he was a reflux baby as well. We put the pillow underneath to prop him with. His reflux got MUCH better around 6 months, and is almost gone now. He hasn't had an episode in some time.

At that age I wouldn't use pillows, I put the crib mattres on an angle. Now that they're older I use Boppy pillows in their cribs.

BRU has a wedge that goes under the sheet/mattress cover that elevates their head. I think it was about $15. Stephanie
