Twins sleeping in your bedroom

I saw there was a thread going about twins sharing a crib, but I have an extra question too ;)

Did/do you have your twins in your bedroom with you when they share(d) a crib? I was planning on putting a crib in our bedroom and having our 2 share the crib. Is this recommended or is it better to start them off in their own room? What are your experiences?

Also, when did you move them into their own room, and did you seperate them then aswell?

    Thank you!

In the beginning they slept in my bed next to me. My SO slept on the couch so I had the bed to myself. They slept on their boppys. then moved them into a pack n play which was next to my bed so they are still not far (you will most likely get up alot in the middle of night, may as well not have to go far)

After 3.5 months of that, they started kicking more and waking eachother up, had to separate them. We finally transitioned them into their own crib and their own room (they share a room). It's now over 5 months and they sleep through the night and have more room to move around.

You do what works for you, in the beginning you don't have to worry about starting bad habits you are just trying to make life easier for you.

    good luck!

Mine did not share a bed, but they were in our room. They slept in the same room with us until they were 3 months old. We decided to move them because they weren't getting up as much to eat, they started waking up everytime we moved a little and because I was scared they would get used to sleeping with us and have a harder time transitioning to their room. They did great moving into their room. We had them sleep with us in the room because getting up a trillion times a night is much easier if the baby is right there, instead of going back and forth between rooms. :)

My twins are still in my room (2.5 years old).......they only slept in the same pack and play until they were too big to sleep in the bassinet part together.....then into their own beds.

Ous only lasted in our room for 3 nights. They just made too much noise and I was awake all night long. They slept in one crib until they were 3 months adjusted and then we separated them.

I put one crib in my room and one in the babies room. Sometimes I would take turns who slept in the crib and who slept with me. Sometimes they would both sleep with me and sometimes they would both sleep in the crib. I just went with how I felt and who seemed to want to cuddle more. Kenna staying in bed with me much longer (she woke much more often to eat). Mitchell was content in the crib. I would say around 8-9 mos we moved the crib out of our room.

It's easier to have them in your room or close by if you can stand their noise. All their gurgling, snorting etc. kept me awake. I have to wear earplugs and trust that DH is listening for them. ;)

Mine slept in separate cribs in one room since the day they came home from the hosptial.

Mine also went straight to their room that they shared with two separate cribs. I preferred to have them in their own room because I felt it helped us all sleep better since they always had the same place to sleep and we didn't have to hear as many noises. You have to do what works best for you.

I have co slept with my last 3 until they were about 11 months old. I can't even imagine not having the babies in my room at first. But with it being 2 I am not sure how long they will be in there. I am buying a co sleeper so my guess is when they out grow that.

They didn't have their own room until we moved this past August... so their crib was in our room.

My girls shared a "cosleeper" off our bed for about 7 weeks.
Then they shared a crib in their room for about 4 months.
Now they are in their own cribs in their own room.

We never had any problems with the transitions, except for a night or so.

We started the girls off in their room in the same crib--although not by choice. We live in a small house and didn't have enough room for a crib in our bedroom. Had we had enough room I would have definitely had them with me. However, they were just down the hall and we had a great monitor. It worked out fine and we never had a problem.

Mine shared a bassinet until they were 4 months that was in our room on my side of the bed, then we moved them to their own cribs in their own room when we wanted our room back, lol!
