I am new to this forum and wondered if anyone else was due in May 2010. I am 8 weeks along and have heard the heartbeats of the babies! We are pregnant for the second time (we have a 17month old son) through IVF. It is still sinking in that we have two babies...but exciting at the same time. Of course I have lots of questions about books, gear, nursing, schedules, etc. Hoping to connect with a few of you who are on my same journey/already been through it.

    Thanks,
    Melissa

    Hi ladies,

I'm also due in May 2010. I just had my first ultrasound on Tuesday at 6w3d, and that's how we found out. :) We saw both heartbeats, but Baby B is measuring a few days behind Baby A, so I'm going for a follow-up ultrasound next week.

Good luck with the first ultrasound!

I am also expecting twins. It was a shock to us. I did fertility meds to get the boys. We had no plans on conceiving anytime soon. Then what I thought was the flu was me pregnant. :) To find out I got twins on my own and carry no risk factor for twins was crazy! I am also due in May. Nice to meet you!

I'm also due in May with twins and couldn't be more excited! I'm feeling better about the m/c risks now that we're nearing the end of the first trimester, but know we still have a long way to go!!!! Congrats!!!!!!!

Hi everyone. This appears to have become the May due date forum. I am also expecting twins on May 20th. We thought we were due the 15th, but due to their size (3.01 cm and 2.81 cm), the Dr. delayed my due date.

Anyone seeing any personality traits yet? My little A is a camera hog. Every where the tech scanned, A went - front and center. B is my game player. B hid behind A, but when we finally got B on camera, B shook with joy. We go back to see them again in 4 weeks. Who knew 4 weeks could be so LOOOOOONG!

    Dear Melissa,

My name is Mendy and I am pregnant with Twins and they are due in May of 2010. I also have a 2 year old daughter at home and the amazing thing is that I was told long ago that I would never be able to conceive and I got pregnant with my daughter. Now 2 years later I am pregnant with twins which is really no surprise to me since I am a twin myself. By the way my Twin sister's name is also Melissa.

    Again, congrats on your twins!!!!

You guys are hiding the May 2010 thread :) We're excited to be expecting twins in May too (the 4th). Our Dr. told us we wouldn't go past 38 weeks, so we anticipate if all goes well the babies will be here in mid April. We have one 4 year old little guy who is excited too.

We found out at 9 weeks and saw them again at a 11.5 week u/s. Both ultrasounds were done as viability studies - we had had some spotting/cramping, but they're both there with great heartbeats, even matching at 174. We're 13 weeks today and had a bit of brown spotting early this morning which freaks me the heck out. The only "good" thing about it - if there is even such a thing, is that it goes as quickly as it comes and it's brownish, not red. Is anyone else dealing with this? We didn't have any spotting like this with DS.

I don't think we have another u/s until 16-18 weeks.

It's certainly a rollercoaster, but we are so excited!

    Hey SigKap,

Might you be a Sigma Kappa? If so, me too. I am also having brown spotting. It has been ongoing for over a week now. Some days it's worse than others. Some days it's almost non-existent. It was freaking me out, but I saw two hearts beating on the U/S last week and my doctor assures me the brown spotting is not cause for worry. We are responding by putting me on a super high-risk monitoring schedule. I see my doc every 2 weeks and get an US every 4. This may be over kill, but my doc lives next door to my parents. I think she'd rather be overly cautious than have my mother show up on her doorstep. In the mean time, I have been taking it very easy and trying pregnancy meditations and relaxations where I "talk" to the twins. Maybe it's crazy, but it makes me feel better and more connected to them.

I'll wing a prayer your way and hope for the best for you and your twins.

Hey DblStuffOreo (what a name! :>) Yes! I'm a Sigma Kappa...hoping I'm working on two legacies here - haha :)

I had some red spotting at weeks 8 and 9 that turned brown and we've had two subsequent ultrasounds and both babies there, hearts beating away. I was so hoping that was over until I got up in the middle of the night and there was brownish spotting - just on the tissue, and not red, but still - ugh. I'm glad that your doctor told you the same thing that it's not a cause for worry. And everything I'm reading about cramping says that it's "normal" too as long as you're not doubled over, etc. Mine is just on the sides, so I think it's probably more like round ligament pain, but combined with the brownish spotting just irritates me. If I could control it, I'd get to see that the twins are doing well via ultrasound everyday - haha!

That's great that your doctor is being so caring. We've been told we'll have increased high-risk monitoring, but it won't start for another few weeks - we're 13 now, and I think it starts around week 18. I appreciate that they're going to monitor things more closely. I haven't tried meditation, but praying and talking to the babies is something I like to do.

    Thanks for the reassurance!

    ~Stephanie
