My frat girls are about 2-3 pounds different. EVERYONE we meet comments on their size difference. "Oh this one is so much smaller" is what we hear most often. This weekend at Walmart a lady says to Sophie "Is this one the girl?" b/c she is smaller. They are both girls!! We have a lot of matching outfits, one pink and one purple, and it has gotten to the point where I put Avery in the pink just to emphasize that she is a girl too. Of course people manage to ignore that and still ask "one girl and one boy?" I feel bad for Avery even though I know she doesn't know what they are saying. They are both within normal ranges so it's not like one is a giant or one is teeny tiny. DH gets really mad b/c he thinks they are implying that there is something wrong with one. I know they don't mean anything by it, they are just making an observation, but it is starting to get annoying. People expect them to be exactly the same just b/c they are twins. It must be even worse with identical twins that have differences!

yeah they get comments on their size all the time, 2-3 lbs difference.

the one thing I get really often is that people get amazed that DD looks like a girl and DS looks like a boy. Like it's an unusual thing for babies. I always get "you can really tell that one is the girl, she looks like a girl"

[SIZE=10pt]We get the same comments ~ we have a little over 3 pound difference.

We also get, "He must me older" What?? Just because he's bigger? <_< Actually DD is 2 minutes older than DS

We get the exact same thing!!

Yes, people always comment on their sizes. DS is bigger. People just want something to say or comment. I'm getting really good at ignoring people or just smiling and nodding.

I get those as well, Sofie is 2-3lbs heavier than Maia. They have completely different builds, NOTHING on them is the same!!
And even if they are BOTH dressed in pink (even though I hate pink!) people will still say "two boys?" Um... :nea:

I think it's funny that so far everyone who has answered has boy/girl twins. I guess I can't blame people too much for thinking one of ours is a boy! :p

We get all the time "oh she's the "bigger" one" ahh it drives me crazy. I say "yes she is taller" its not like she's big and I always worry about them being labelled "big" with all the problems young girls can have.

Or they're really close in age haha, I can understand it now, yes one could be 3 and one 4, but when they were in their stroller dressed the same, what the!!

Our boy is about 3 lbs bigger, so we get the "looks like a boy looks like a girl" comment all the time too. However, with my husband's younger boy-girl twin siblings (who are now 19), the girl was always a lot bigger than the boy, until they were in 8th grade. She would beat him up! He is quite a bit bigger now though. I will ask her whether it bothered her that people were always commenting that she was bigger.

We get this too. Karlie is only about 1 lb difference and maybe not even that now, but for some reason they always call her the boy and Sydney the girl. They do have way different builds and Karlie is bald which I think is why people automatically assume she is a boy even when wearing a pink outfit. I don't get how people could think I would stick my boy in an all pink outfit. I swear people are so weird sometimes.

I get this too - my girls are identical and about 4 or so lbs apart! Both are in the normal range.

Lol we get the same thing. We have a 3 lb difference and one is exactly 2 minutes older than the other. I could never figure out why people say oh she must be older...yeah like 2 minutes???

My boys are exactly the same weight, but Joel is an inch and a half taller, so, thinner. People always comment on Roman being "bigger."

BTW, I was much, much taller than my twin brother unti we were well into our teens. Now he is two inches taller than me.

I know I have identicals, but if someone pays attention they can tell them apart. It drives me crazy when people compare them. My mom is the worst. She is always comparing them. Not in a bad way or anything. She is always saying Grace is bigger and when we take them for the well baby visits they always weigh the same. And it never failed when we would take them to walmart people would always ask if one was a boy and one was a girl.

I have two girls and most people think Hannah is a boy for some reason. Why do people have to say anything at all?

There is now a 5 pound difference between my fraternal girls (it was only 5 ounces at birth) so I get comments all the time. And yes, people assume that Breena is a boy because she is bigger. Yesterday I had two outfits picked out and DH asked me if it mattered who wore what. At first I said no then I realized that if he put the turquoise and green one on Breena then people would be calling her a boy all day. So he dressed her in the pink and orange and Baylinn in the blue and green. It's ridiculous that I have to dress my kids based on what other people will think/say!!

My favorite people are the ones that ask "Twins?" and when I say yes, they make a face at me and go "Really?" like I'm making it up!

its funny that you posted this today, because my grandma stopped by to visit for awhile last night and she said "Is Keigin still bigger than Kaylin?" When i said yea, she then said "Well thats awful weird since she is younger." yep grandma--ten whole minutes younger!! :D

Claire has consistently weighed about a half a pound more than Ashley & she has a rounder face and a more solid build. My husband would call her "Jaba" and say she was rotund (compared to Ashley!) until I told him to stop so that he wouldn't get into the habit. It bothers me when people point out the difference, even though it's obvious, because I don't want Claire to have a complex about being the "bigger" twin when she's older. I'm hoping they even out at some point but even if they don't I will always think both girls are beautiful :)

My DD is actually the bigger of my two, which I guess is a little unusual -- and, it's really accentuated because she has very stiff, upright posture, while my DS is snuggly and slouchy which makes him look smaller than he actually is. (He's only an inch shorter, but two pounds lighter, than his sis.)

I haven't gotten any comments about it that have really bothered me, but I do have vague worries about Karina having poor body image if she hears too many comments that she's big....especially because her big sister is tall and very, very slim -- a supermodel figure if I've ever seen one, LOL.

ditto except we have a 5 lb diff and DD is older by 1 minute--further accentuating the fact that it's funny that people care who was born first

part of the joy of having twins is getting to make fun of people i guess--whatever :pardon:

I have two boys and for whatever reason everyone seems to think they are both girls. I've just started smiling and nodding. It is just easier (and kinder than saying "didn't you notice they are both in blue...stupid).

I'm sure people mean well. Older people always get so excited when they see us coming. In a way, that is sweet.
