I'm currently pregnant with g/g faternal twins and I was wondering how long if anyone kept their twins in the same crib?? I only have a small amount of space until my husband and I move to FL. I just didn't know how long was okay for them to be in the same crib. If you do keep them in the same crib do you space them out or put them in there with positioners... IM SORRY I have one right now but Im realllllllllllly new to this whole twin thing. Thanks sooo much MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!!!

I kept mine in the same crib until they were 6 months. After that they were too big to stay together.

I was actually wondering the same thing, how long can they stay in the same crib safely without worry of one smothering the other by rolling or something?

I just read a poll in the Twins First Year forum on this exact topic you could check out! :D

I personally used sleep positioner's with my first two and will with my twins, because I keep them on their sides instead of their backs. My son nearly choked to death sleeping on his back because of acid reflux. So I will be using positioners near each other in a single crib for as long as I can!

We don't have very much space, either and planned to keep them in the same crib as long as we could. But we had to seperate them around 3 mo because they started scooting around. We had to put up the pack and play since we don't have a second crib yet (waiting till after Christmas). A bonus was that they started sleeping better immediately after we seperated them. Not sure if that was just a developmental thing or if it was because we seperated them, but still bonus!

I kept my girls together in a bassinet (the top part of our pack n play) for the first month. We had one in our room & one downstairs in our family room. It worked great :good:
We decided at less than 2 months to put them in their own room in 1 crib to begin with.
Once they got too wiggly & started getting out of their swaddles to poke each other we put them in seperate cribs, this was at about 3 months I think.
:)
